I wish to publish a cover on Spotify/Apple Music/Deezer and other -Streaming only- platform, in Europe. Do I need a mechanical lycense to do it?
Can I use my Distrokid or OneRPM account to upload them directly, excluding nations as US, Canada and stores as amazonMp3?

    Thanks!

In Europe, for streaming-only releases of cover songs, you generally do not need to secure a mechanical license yourself. Platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer already pay the relevant rights-holders through collective management organizations. This means you can usually upload your cover via DistroKid or OneRPM without extra licensing steps, as long as it’s strictly for streaming. The mechanical license requirement mainly applies if you want to sell downloads or physical copies (e.g., CDs, vinyl, Amazon MP3). Excluding the U.S. and Canada is also possible on most distributors if you want to avoid their different licensing requirements.
