Ah so that's why my list is instant. Yeah I don't like it grouped that way anyway. I use the filters or type search to find what I want, but I actively use all my plugins so I know what all I have. I don't need to scroll to browse, scrolling is highly inefficient. But apparently some people enjoy scrolling through their long list of plugins in a middle of a show to match the vibe.

 

You are mistaking the most pronounced expression of the symptoms to be the thing itself, as are most others.

Untick creator can appear to resolve the redraw problem and is the simplest thing to try that will yield the greatest return for effort (which is why I mentioned it a few pages back), but the reason for why it happened in the first place is still very much there as evidenced by people who did untick it and nothing changed, such as with OP.

Is the root of it Ableton's fault? Yes. Can the consumer take actions beyond unticking creator to mask the issues? Yes. Which is why I then asked the very relevant questions about drives and files as the next step to try for a solve consumer side until Ableton fully provides a solution (which probably means rearchitecting core systems and why little has been said on Abletons part).

There appears a strong correlation between those who don't fully know/understand how the different libraries interact and how those functionalities interact with the file system, and those with this issue after unticking group by creator. This problem was present before Browser Tags. Thousands of new strings thrown on the heap just exacerbated it and made it impact more people. Ableton made some poor design choices that allow the user to negatively impact performance because of those design choices.

I'll leave it at that to be pursued or ignored as one wishes.

 

Oh boy. You seem to think you know more than everyone else, including those Ableton customer support and certified Ableton instructors at the forum. What I proposed are real world solutions recommended by said experts on the subject and my conclusions through my own testing on several PC's and versions of Live (v9-12).

What testing have you done and what solutions have you offered here? Your continuous open-ended, deflective and obfuscated retorts are pretentious, unhelpful and off base with what Ableton itself advises, I and others have experienced and the purpose of this thread. What you've proposed in this thread is nothing short of a wild goose chase. Ta...

 

I've been reading the log file and here's a repeating string

Does anyone know what's that about? I can't find any info pertaining Ableton

Another error that precede that one appears sometimes

I work with a lot of artist, in both production work and as MD. Everyone ive worked with has their live Ableton Live set figured out ahead of time. You can still perform, you just arent staring at the screen scrolling through the browser. You have a prebuilt set that allows for improv. Stems and clips lined up for launching, effects pre-mapped to knobs or faders, instruments already chosen with either multiple tracks armed, or instrument racks created the ability to morph through presets.
