Wow. There is just so much content creation and creators that I worry the future might have little audience for most of us creators. Data created seems to be gradually surpassing the engagement of the audience. As a result, more and more creators seem to (1) resort to the recycling of old contents and concepts and (2) engage in similar activities that can generate quick but not long lasting engagement.
As a result, creativity and research seem to be on a decline. This is true for most business sectors. In the music industry for example, we are at some point of attrition and for the past few years (maybe 6 or so), we are being served with the same type of mainstream music. Moreover, many artists are now selling their images rather than the art just to get that engagement. We see more artists doing comedy, fake lifestyles, poor collaborations and more.
Business wise, this isn't a bad thing. However, more and more artists and content creators seem to be running out of direct audiences for their contents. This is resulting in most contents nowadays not truly original. We can talk all day about how the past was more original than our present or future.
This point I am raising highlights one of my major preoccupations; the fact that we need to devise methods to reduce or regulate content creation. How to do that is a mystery for now but I believe we can start from somewhere. This is just a personal pov. What do you think about this subject?

There's plenty of good music out there, it's just that the ad agencies have perfected their marketing techniques to ensure maximum exposure to what they've been hired to sell through every available media stream. There's still plenty of amazing music and art out there, you just have to lift a few rocks and ignore the white noise. Youtube is a treasure trove of creativity - just get an ad blocker.

I hit that burnout wall hard last year, felt like everything I made started sounding the same. What helped a lot was lightening the load on the boring stuff—I've been using humanizerai.com to save time on drafts and initial ideas. It lets me focus more on the fun parts like shaping sounds and layering. Productivity doesn’t always mean doing more; sometimes it's about doing less, smarter.

Do whatever it takes, come back with lot of love and fun, don't think about anything superficial, just make music you love and have fun making it, everything else is just BS.

maybe just go for one week without music, movies, basically take really that week complete off from consuming anything ...
the time you have could use for relaxing, play around with gear, go outside ...

Lock yourself in your home, disconnect from the internet, and turn off all reception devices. Brew your favorite
beverage, sit comfortably in your favorite chair, and write the questions that are bothering you on a piece of paper.

When you feel comfortable and are no longer distracted, your amazing brain will solve the problem.
Take all the time you need.Consider writing the solution on the piece of paper.

If it doesn't work right away, try again the next day. After at least three attempts, you will enlighten
yourself, and the truth will unfold clearly before you, and you will know what to do from now on.

The problem is simply that you never let your brain rest and are constantly bombarded with information.
Learn to think and act independently and autonomously again.

    Less is often more....

Take your time. "Burnout" lasts between 1-4 years, depending on the severity.
Try to focus more on nature and health with exercise, maybe sports, hiking, or cycling.

Don't overexert yourself, and if you notice it's getting exhausting and you're struggling, turn off the
computer and do something else...! Remember, life has a lot to offer besides music; discover it!

Theoretically there are many ways to experience music, just try something different and see if you get on with it, trial and error...!

Yeah, I feel that too. Feels like the algorithm pushes everyone into making the same type of stuff just to survive, and originality gets buried. I’ve noticed the most refreshing content now comes from smaller, niche communities that aren’t chasing mass trends. It’s tough, but carving out a small, loyal audience might be the only way forward.

Having seen what Suno can do I feel quite pessimistic about the future of trying to make money as a songwriter.
Suno is far from perfect but imagine what Next Gen Suno will be like, or what their rival(s) will be like in a few years from now.

There will still be megastars and massive hits but much of the "other" music will be entirely created by AI.

My creative burn-out came when I started worrying about what to do with my art, how to get an audience, how to earn money with it, how to self-promote... First and foremost, I'm an artist. The Zeitgeist of becoming a me incorporated grindset hustle 24/7 productivity obsessed moneymaker resulted in me not wanting to do anything anymore.

Since, I tried focusing on music only again, things got a little better. But the well of once naive creativity just looking for an outlet seems to have been poisoned ever since. I sometimes long for the times where I didn't give a fuck about subscribers, listeners, engagement and all that shit. It seriously messed with my intrinsic wish to be creative.

I don't have a solution for your problem, but knowing what caused the problem helps a little, at least, to put it into perspective and to stop beating myself up.

Hello @Rain Drum, I think we should think more about what we're actually doing musically, how things have changed because of the internet, and where we're headed. We've already achieved a lot; let's draw the right conclusions from it.

Don't be a content creator. Be an excellence creator. Next question.
