Is there a way to snap automation points to grid when adding them ? I usually think it does until I zoom in and its not exactly on the grid I wanted it to be on. Does anyone know how to do this?

Try this [Cubase 14]. Turn Snap On, Set Quantize Beat/Bar Settings, Hold Left Mouse Button whilst dragging the Automation Points and it should 'Snap'.

So I'm referring to when u use the pencil tool to add the automation point, that doesn't snap to grid. Moving the point is snapped to grid however most times I want the default value of the automation line not to move when moving a point, so I will hold Ctrl key so it doesn't change the line vertically, but that also uses free point move instead of snapping to grid.

Yeah I don't see a way to get it to snap when you first place a node, so perhaps it's a no to your original question, if that is what you wanted. Fixing it after the fact by moving it does snap to grid, but you are correct that the vertical value changes, what I do is when I get it to the spot on the grid I want it on, I keep holding the mouse button down, and then press Ctrl before letting go. It will reset the value and the node stays at the same spot on the grid that you wanted.

i just found that shift + left/right arrow keys moves the point across the grid, i gues with this i don't have to worry about accidentally changing the line value

In C14 Pro when selecting the Pencil Tool and Holding Left Mouse Button down as you Draw should Snap to the Grid according to your Quantize Grid [Settings] [3 Green Arrows Pointing Upwards in the above image].

Not sure if you are wanting it to do more?

Doesn't work that way with Track Automation which is handled differently than CC Automation like your video is showing.

Object Selection Tool seems to work in that case at dragging the points and they will snap.
To create another Point further down the line it changes to a Pencil when you move it along the line

Well that was the conclusion we came to, you can't just place a node at a snap point, you'll have to do some sort of dragging after the fact.

OK great... and it is a bit silly not be able to do the same as with the CC but doesn't take too much time. Maybe in C15 then or a setting I've not come across to get them both to act the same
