Synapse Legend HZ and a close second would be Arturia Pigments.

I'm on Harmor right now. I am fighting with it to see if it can actually be an all in one.

One of the computers at a tech school I was at a few years ago had Massive X installed, was playing on and off with it and eventually I claimed my free version from an akai deal, I should get back to it and shred some waves, but I’ve been into VCV a lot lately especially since I got some premium modules for my birthday

My only issue with that one is it gets very cpu hungry at times… hoping once I get an M4 Mac it’ll subside or at least not be so demanding

I’d say VCV Pro 2 is currently the favorite right now, but I don’t usually pick favorites… if I could only have so many I’d pick

    VCV
    Falcon
    Pigments
    Omnisphere
    Massive X
    Serum 2
    Chromaphone
    Absynth
Alchemy (if I had the space for it…)
    Korg Triton

there’s probably more like multipoly native, Surge XT, Multiphonics etc. there’s a bunch I can’t remember them all… I know Zebra might resurface to the top…

Phase plant. i feel like i can make any sound i want or imagine with it

also something about how it looks makes me feel like im in the future, which helps with sound design (also it has a lot of skins). though especially after i make a patch and i see all the graphics moving all sci-fi and hi-tech like. makes me feel like i made something cool thats alive

The SQ8L is amazing. Loads of libraries available on the net. There are 4 banks of sound included and you can import other banks into Bank A. Make sure you save the original Bank A before overwriting it! It's never crashed on me. It only uses a tiny amount of CPU power. How the program file is less than 1meg big I'll never know.

I probably use Serum (original, haven't gotten to Serum 2 yet) more than anything. I really bounce all over the place though and tend to use VSTis that are emulations of vintage synths and kinda geared towards the sound or type of instrument I'm going for.

My fave to use at the moment is Gforce SEM. But my favorite changes with the wind.
