    Hi guys,
    this is my first post,
I would like to know if you have the ability to replicate the following bassline.

I know the characteristics, it's a syncopated bassline and it has a portamento/glide in it, but how would you do it?

It's not really hard, typical (Mini) Moog sound with shorter decay on filter and glide always on

use Repro , Diva or The legend and you can easily recreate it , but ofcourse depends of your playing skillz or programming skills too

    thanks guys for your contributions,
I don't believe it's a matter of the synth used, but the processes applied.

Who dares to make a 5 seconds line replicating it and share it here? The theory sounds easy, but I doubt that translating it is so quick.
It has some pumpiness/precission characteristics attached to it that I'm not sure that comes only from compression.

Hi, Papawise! Did you manage to achieve a result equal to or similar to Maceo Plex's bassline?

no, I can tell you that I made progress, but I still don't undercover the real techniques behind of his sound.
Wether it's a process or a way to mix, it's not so easy like everyone describes.
The guy commenting above made a good writing but you can feel how far he is of a fat solid sound like Maceo.

Exactly! I think the same. I’ve made some progress and evolution in that sense. For example, sound synthesis is obviously where it all begins. But then: parallel compression (Black 76 or Klanghelm compressors), bringing that attack further forward, and equalization, removing muddiness from the bass (sometimes an excess of low frequencies {100 to 300 Hz} causes the bass to lose definition).

And also, in sound synthesis, the focus is on a sine wave, as it is robust and stable. You can even take that wave from the kick in the track, filtering out the highs and keeping only that sub-bass and low-end attack — this works really well, and with that, the bass will end up in layers. And this, logically, would be the first layer!
