Paul Mario Day (ex-Iron Maiden, ex-More, ex-Wildfire) passed away on July 29, 2025

Iron Maiden announces the passing of their very first singer and founding member, Paul Mario Day:
"We are deeply saddened that Paul Mario Day, Iron Maiden's first ever vocalist back in 1975, has passed away. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to Paul's family and friends. Paul was a lovely person and good mate. Rest in peace, Paul."

Paul Mario Day, born on April 19, 1956, was the singer of Iron Maiden from 1975 to 1976, before the (also deceased) Paul Di'Anno. Between them, Dennis Wilcox served as frontman (from 1976 to 1978).
Paul Mario Day was a founding member of the band, but he didn't even appear on the demo ("The Soundhouse Tapes").

From 1980 to 1981, Paul Mario Day was with the NWoBHM band More and also on their 1981 debut, "Warhead." From 1982 to 1985, he was with Wildfire, appearing on all their releases. From 1985 to 1989, he was with Andy Scott's Sweet.

In 1986, he moved to Australia and was active in local bands. Now he has (according to reports) died of cancer.
