CPU usage is the same for both versions, unless R2R has noted something else in the NFO.

Thank you for telling me about there being Motif X presets, I had a suspicion they'd be available (I'm a video game music nut, so any access to, in this case Motif-derivative samples is welcomed.).

I most certainly agree with your sentiments regarding the plugin being built on the single-core/non-multithreaded JUCE programming stuff- it baffles me such a basic development kit could be shoehorned into something this demanding (I'd imagine that if it were written in C++ and capable of multithreading, it'd be a lot more seamless) in this day and age.

This is why I often disagree with the whole prevalent "oh your hardware sucks compared to my often financially out of reach supercomputer, time for you to dole out the big bucks" argument plenty of people blather on about when it tends to be a software bottleneck as result of inexcusably archaic programming work. Even meatier, contemporary machines seem to be suffocated by the single-threading processing of the Montage M plugin.

    Yes I can.
You can not give a link of the original post?
On the bottom right of each post is a number.
Copying that number link and pasting it here will take me directly to that original post.
    Thanks.

I think that i discovered why Montage ESP runs bad....I have 3 PC different configs, Xeon 16 cores 32 threads 64gb ram, Ryzen 7 1700 32GB ram and a Ryzen 7 5000 series 24gb ram acer notebook. Checking the windows task manager while i was playing the plugin in all machines, i saw that ONLY ONE thread is used....all other cores remains in idle....Only a single thread reach 100% of use. Doesnt matter if you have a lot of cores. ESP will use only one THREAD....see that i dont tell One core but...ONE THREAD....this is a big mistake from yamaha....a complex plugin running in single thread...i hope that this be corrected on next releases....Try to play the preset TX816 that have 8 layers....with a few notes the thread is overloaded and audio fails while the other cores and threads is in idle....

Nothing new, was discussed here before, it's single threaded JUCE based code.

    i7-8700K (non-oc) 32GB Reaper 7.28 with ASIO 256@48khz (NI Komplete 6mk2):
    Idle RT CPU: 30% average
Ascension 4 bars loop: start at 53% then goes up to 62% when looped.

(if i duplicate this track: goes up to 82% with crackling audio (both track armed))

FYI the new version 3.0 is out and the cpu usage is less heavier.

I love this VST version and it became my number 1 instrument. I tried in several apps and discovered that it runs better in VST Live 2 (Steinberg). Now i am playing live with a Notebook with a i5 processor and 8GB of ram! :))
