As it stands, it's staying with MAGIX.

UPDATE: Streamlined product portfolio - Vegas Video Pro Post discontinued. July 27, 2024: Magix has clearly communicated that it sees a great future in the Vegas Pro editing software and intends to focus its development on this very area. The new version, Vegas Pro Edit 22, is therefore exciting.

UPDATE July 30, 2024:
Magix has finally implemented what it announced in an interview at the start of its insolvency proceedings: Vegas Pro now offers only two different versions, instead of the previous three. The most expensive version, Vegas Pro Post, which previously included many third-party plug-ins, has been discontinued.

Magix is also following suit with its pricing structure and is no longer offering the software permanently with deep discounts, but is now communicating lower prices, albeit at the same level as the software was previously sold. Vegas Pro Edit 22 costs €199, and Vegas Pro Suite costs €249. (The corresponding text has also been adjusted below.)

Mac versiyonunu yapmamaya direndiler, gezegendeki her bilgisayar bunu yaptı, sadece Magix yapmıyor ve kimse nedenini bilmiyor. Bu yazılıma aşık olan ve Mac versiyonunu bekleyen düzinelerce insan var, insanlar neden 2 makine alsın ki, yıllardır Mac üzerinde çalışan insanlar var, ancak Magix bunu yapmamaya 20 yıldır direndi, umarım yeni ekip sıfırdan yeni bir karar alır ve Mac versiyonunu yapar, aksi takdirde Logic Reaper varken kimse PC'de Samplitude'a gitmez.

 

I'd bet Vegas and SoundForge will go back to Sony

 

Sonic Foundry could buy it back cheap and make Soundforge great again!

 

I've got too much invested in Sound Forge, having used it for, dunno, 20 years or so. I mean all of the shortcuts are burned into my muscle memory, so even attempting to use a different wave editor is next to impossible for me.

That's not really a problem, but SF certainly could do with several rounds of modernisation and maybe even a face lift. It would be nice to frictionlessly launch SF from Live to do some on the spot sample editing, but sometimes it's easier just to shut down Live, do the editing and then go back.

 

Whot? The fully fledged Vegas version is only 250 bucks? I mean I use it once every other year, but for that price I guess I really should support them.

 

Hopefully Boris will keep Samplitude and Sequoia alive - I've been using Samplitude since 1998 because it was developed by some nice guys at my Musical College in Dresden, their company name "Sek'D" means "Studio für elektronische Klangerzeugung Dresden"; later they sold it to Magix.
And I also hope that they will further improve it...more and better HiRes capabilities please! (DSD format)

 

once they killed SoundForge for Mac, I started using Reaper instead (on both Windows and MacOS) - frankly nowadays it loads much faster than latest SoundForge Pro on Windows despite having majority of features like SF Pro despite lower cost

 

Oh my dark lord, reading Sek'D gave me a flashback... Right, that was the name of the og company. These were fun times, every now and then applications plopped up that did amazing, never before seen stuff. Same with computers.. That atari falcon was able to record 8 tracks of Harddisk recording! Out of the box!! Without additional hardware!!!
