I saw Walkabout at too young an age to remember anything apart from Jenny Agutter naked. In fact at the serious risk of TMI I'm tenting right now thinking about it.

I may watch Logan's Run tonight.

Currently 5 episodes into Apple TV's Murderbot.
Brilliant so far. Good Sci-Fi mixed with humour. Big budget. Nice mix of characters but Alexander SkarsgÄrd's rogue robot is the show stealer. Highly recommended. 5 episodes to go (3 of which haven't aired yet).

    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt30444310

Based on the Martha Wells' Murderbot Diaries series of novels.

Gary was and is f-kin' cool. I think MicroMusic is an iconic live show.

Just watched The Prodigy and Amyl and the Sniffers at Glastonbury. Both terrific sets. Nile Rogers' Chic were great too.
Too many of the other pop darlings were miming to backing tracks.
Although I quite like some Rod Stewart stuff his voice sounded like a goose farting in the fog. He looks and moves well for his age though. He had a very attractive backing band!

Dossier 51 (1978) by Michel Deville
It's a paranoid spy movie from the 'French political thriller' era. It is cold and arid. An operation is set to spy on and then manipulate a French secondary rank diplomat. We never see the target. But we end knowing more about him than about any other character, and, in fact more about him than himself (we know what the spies know).
We dont know much about the spying organization, which could be some governement agency or a mercenary organization. The goal of the project is unclear and unimportant. Well the direct goal is more or less known but the big picture isnt (which adds to the paranoia).

This is from a pre-digital era : secretly invading someone's life takes a lot of people and effort (although we feel that this organization does this kind of things routinely). Transpose it to an online world with automatic metadata retrieval, AI fakes and personal data seen as a merchandise, and it turns extremely uncomfortable.

    Definitely worth a watch.

Philip K. Dick readers should like it.

It is adapted from a 1969 novel written as a succession of reports and tries to translate this method to a movie form. I didnt read the novel yet, but the movie made me want to.

Strange Darling is a 2023 horror thriller told in six non-linear chapters. Shot on 35mm film, the movie challenges stereotypes and audience expectations.

Pretty good attempt at Nolan-esque story telling / Tarantino style cinematography and portrayal of violence.

I loved 'Talk To Me' so I eagerly awaited the Philippou brothers new release 'Bring Her Back'. Amazing horror movie with lots of gore and jump scares. Loved it.

7.2 on IMDB from 32K votes.

@David Brock yeah it was great, i saw a private screening of it a few months back - in terms of body horror it had some crazy scenes, like that kid with the cantaloupe on the knife, BRUH. had some very creative imagery and ideas in regards to body horror specifically

it was so dark and bleak too compared to Talk to Me. idk if you have but ive noticed a trend in independent horror recently, where a lot of them are centered around grief, seems like almost every new movie that comes out is about that. solid recc tho definitely was excited for it as well when it was announced and it delivered

Someone should warn Paddington that his mum is a psycho bitch from hell.

In 1981 I donned a Paddington Bear suit and entertained children for the two weeks leading up to Christmas at Macy's Herald Square in NYC. My mother was the very psycho bitch from hell that you warn about and from reading your post I'm feeling a degree of PTSD. Maybe I should write my own horror film from the perspective of the first person.

This is a great idea and a well-thought-out format. Films are deeply influential and can be a strong source of inspiration for music and creativity. Having a dedicated space where members can share high-quality film recommendations with structured details like posters, trailers, and IMDb links keeps things organized and useful. Encouraging positive interaction while discouraging negativity makes it a more welcoming and inspiring environment. It sounds like a valuable addition to the community.

Just watched this. Really enjoyed it. It reminded me of Wolf Creek...... but with sharks and a boat. Pretty tense and Jai Courtney plays an excellent psycho.
