The last win7 compatible version for The Glue is 1.7.0, after that they switched to Juce 8, which isn't win7 compatible.

Some one should hack that ugly Juce like some guy did to QT6 apps which now run on WIN7 again by changing the dll of corresponding version to hacked ones.

Not working no matter what (Vxkex or not).

BTW I can't say aren't working with any daws, but to me, if they fail two daws, they're out.

use always VSThost in test purposes too, I noticed that it can be capricious with some vst's, one should take that into account for final judgement.:guru:

    Can't believe some wants win7. I thought I was adamant upgrading .
Lot more things than version number. They change lot of stuff kernel, audio driver iss...
Win audio was clear improvement to me in win10. I speak specifically to that. Win 11 was a crappy step back, I switched to mac ( mistake, maccrapos is like Linux 30 years ago - but their shitair is pretty damn shit for its perf+battery.. Intel wake up, or Ableton and co please compile to arm and MS stop the BS cloud but hire real dev to write real audio stack , not just wake cockwalk to do it )
Also win11 put lot of crap pretending 'security ' like smart pointers all that b.s. you can more or less disable in defender. impact dpc without any doubts. They'll keep going into that, i read next win version will lock down even more like maccrapos , puting even more things outside of the kernel ( bad for DEvs, bad for dpc) pretending 'security' yes who can be against security or stability ? But their real goal is lock down, so we forced to their cloud crap, we can't disable their shenanigans telemetry update crapware anjlire, we can't hook to debug , we can't see the shady things they are doing, we pay more and more for less and less, we loose freedom and give away our privacy. they even make money on our back.
    But I digress...
Best OS for audio was Amiga os. Thousands realtime context switch on that shit 68k proc. It was bogus and rebooted every 5 minutes but it was the best.
Ableton. Forever. German are the best in audio. They coded all majors daws and so many great vsts. Ja woll. I'm French expat Canada. Don't do that. it's crap all over here. Except you like fentanyl and oil, it's 'paradise' then.
Provocating : did any of those plugins are still running on win3.11 ? :)

Windows 7 is a very stable system, with the only limitation being that it can't play all modern synthesizers.
It's best to get an offline PC for making music and a second system for being online.

all crap you wrote about 11 also applies to WIN10

but it's out of discussion for this thread it's only for unworking programs

@washlim Do you think we don't have systems other than Windows? We do it because we can. Besides, I'm curious what other software still works on Windows 7 anyway :hifive:

The main reason I have backups of the plugins I use on my Windows 7 x64 ultimate 100% offline PC, when a plugin works pefectly and does what I need, I never update, just logical. I also have a spare Win 7 PC and a Windows 10 PC for daily use. Most newer plugins will work on 7 but there are a few exceptions that don't.
