    Hey guys,
I know we're on a Audio Board here and I hope you can help me.

I fly back home now with a super full Camera Storage.
Actually I don't know how to sort my photos and upload them to Google Photos.

The pictures and videos are on my Dji Action 5. I have a MacBook.
I know there are plenty of apps like Apple Photos, Google drive, lightroom etc.

Do you know if lightroom has a Google Connection or you know a Software which can sort my local photos and upload them to Google Photos? I bought the Google One Abo and have enough storage.

    Thank you

Hey! Sounds like you’ve had a great trip, and it’s awesome that you’re ready to sort and upload everything safely. You're not alone—many people have the same challenge with sorting and backing up their photos across different platforms.
Here’s a quick overview of your best options for sorting your photos locally on your MacBook and then uploading them to Google Photos:

Best Workflow for MacBook → Google Photos
    1. Transfer your media from DJI Action 5 to your MacBook:
      • Use a USB-C cable or microSD card reader to copy everything into a dedicated folder (e.g., ~/Pictures/DJI_Trip_2025).
    2. Organize your photos locally (optional but recommended):
      • You can use Apple Photos, Lightroom, or even just Finder folders.

      • If you want powerful sorting (by date, location, camera settings, etc.), Lightroom is excellent.
    3. Upload to Google Photos:
Option A: Use Google Drive / Google Photos Web Upload (Manual)
    • Go to: photos.google.com

    • Click Upload > Computer and select the folders or files you want.

    • This is easy and works well if you’re uploading only parts of your library.
Option B: Google Drive for Desktop App (Semi-Automatic)
    • Install: Google Drive for Desktop

    • During setup, you can choose folders on your Mac to automatically sync or back up to Google Photos.

    • In Preferences, enable:
      • ✅ "Upload photos and videos to Google Photos"

      • ✅ Select the correct folder (e.g., DJI_Trip_2025)
    Note on Lightroom:
    • Lightroom does not have native Google Photos integration.

    • If you organize photos in Lightroom, you’ll still need to export them to a folder and then upload to Google Photos manually or with the Drive app.

    • Lightroom Cloud Storage is separate from Google, so it’s more useful for editing/cataloging than backing up to Google.
    Recommended: Hybrid Workflow
    • Use Lightroom (Classic or CC) to import and tag/sort your photos (non-destructively).

    • Once you’re happy with the curation:
      • Export originals or edited JPEGs into a “Ready to Upload” folder.

      • Use Google Drive for Desktop to automatically upload that folder to Google Photos.
    ✅ Summary
    Task Best Tool
Transfer from camera Finder / DJI Mimo (optional)
Sort + tag + edit Lightroom (Classic or CC)
Upload to Google Photos Google Drive for Desktop OR Web
Full automatic backups Google Drive Backup settings
Let me know if you want help setting up the Lightroom export or Google Drive preferences!
