Ideas on how to reproduce this guitar effect/what it'd be called?

Hey, I'm trying to work out this song, and I'm not sure what this effect is. I just put up a short audio clip of the right side/mono with the vocals removed with a stem-splitter, so of course won't be the best quality, but will hopefully be clear enough. If anyone can figure it out, that'd be awesome.

    Thanks

Can't hear much except drums! Can you put the whole song up (stereo), or link to it?

I clearly hear a SYNTH over guitar.
    So two solutions :
a synth is playing over a guitar ... or guitar trigger a synth effect.

For the second one, Guitar synth plugins can work.
Helix native have a good synth section.
Some multi FX (hardware or software) have a synth section.

Ahhh yes, that's it! He did mention in a "gear interview" many years ago that he will use a synth pedal, but his lil demo didn't sound too similar to this (and I have no experience with synth pedals, n very little with synths in general), so I didn't think that that could be it, but yeah, as soon as I opened the Helix Native synths I could hear it. Thank you!

    Sounds a little talkbox'y. Try a talkbox.

    Agree...

Listen at 7:20 or 9:00... A very long solo where Frampton used a talkbox.

To me, it is not a talkbox.
There is no "mouth filtering" effect on the double sound ... and sound is doubled (most talkbox user don't double their sound).
