Hello everyone, after ive downloaded omnisphere and located the STEAM folder, I tried to reopen the plugin but now its stuck on a black screen with the status being not responding, Ive waited a long time for it to try to load, but its still stuck on this status. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

For how long have you waited for it to become responsive?

I am not 100% sure about this - it's been a while since I installed Omnisphere - but I think on first initialization it does this when it is indexing the STEAM folder and it can take a long time, depending on how much is in there and what type of drive the folder is located on. In my case it was an external USB HDD and I seem to remember waiting for well over an hour (hours?) for it to finally finish. Basically, I just left the computer to run during the day while I was busy with other stuff and when I came back it was done.

Omnisphere is quite slow to load even after this initialization and I am fairly sure it is due to the preset database index. The actual GUI responds almost instantly when recalled (after having been loaded once), but on each first open it takes its sweet time. Then again, my STEAM folder is rather large, with quite a few third-party additions, and sitting on a slow HDD. Putting the STEAM folder on a fast NVME drive would probably help. However, there are lots of non-sequential files so it won't be able to pull GBs/sec numbers.

You can make sure the STEAM library is not read only. Omnisphere does not like that. Also as Wired mentioned - patience. Open it in the morning and let it index. On my m.2 gen 4 super fast drive it took about 15 minutes for me. On an mechanical drive - well get fat on coffee and biscuits. It took 4 minutes the other day to add a small 70mb library from a mechanical. I quit it several times before just leaving it to do it's thing.
I am not sure but I think its an all or nothing. If you bug out early you might be starting from scratch.
