Hello everyone. I'm not very familiar with these software, so I thought I'd get some help from advanced users.

My current environment is M1MAX MAC and OS is monterey 12.7.6

I looked at some forums, but it was a bit difficult.

I have the official KONTAKT 5 and 7.

I would like to install and use the new KONTAKT 6 and 8 versions of MORIA or HCiSO. You can't just install them and use them, right? I saw that you need prerequisites such as using KLU and rewriting the XML of NATIVE ACCES. Are these two things mandatory? Are there any other points to note? I don't know how to use the XML in the installation procedure, so I would like your advice.

Also, should I stop connecting NATIVE ACCESS2 when using these versions? I'm using the official KOMPLETE 14.

I would also like to know the difference between the MORIA and HCiSO versions. Is it okay to use the official version and these versions together?

You can just install them and use them.

KLU is for adding, removing and organizing libraries. You don't necessarily need to use it, but you do if you want to create .nicnt files for libraries that dont have one, or if you want to add libraries that do, so that they show up in kontakt.

Im not sure about re-writing the XML of Native Access. Maybe that's something that's done in MORIA's version, but its not necessary in HCiSO.

I don't think there is really much of a difference between MORiAs and HCiSO. Personally ive had better luck with HCiSO's, so i use those, but i was using MORiA's in the past with no issue. I was having issues adding the new composer tools with MORiAs, so switched to HCiSO.

You should definitely not be logged in to your account on Native Access when using the alternative versions. Im not entirely sure, but you will generally encounter issues when using legitimate versions and unofficial releases together. I would say its one ore the other.

 

I've installed kontakt 8 HCiSO, All you need other than K8 is the KLU2 which helps you to install your libraries and that's it. make sure to open the standalone app first after adding libraries. Sometimes opening the plugin first make the library images to disappear.

 

Thank you everyone. I was looking at some information and it seemed like HCiSO was a hit or miss.
Someone said that there was no such thing for MORIA.
If this is true, I'd like to know which versions are good and which are bad.

 

Ive had the opposite experience. We all have different systems, so its good that we have options. Try either or and see what works for you.
