This isn't news, Ek-Spotify has been invested in this shite and handfuls of other shady affiliations and ventures for decades, but apparently people don't mind any of it, turning a blind eye or whatever, judging from Spotify's stats. Its beyond pathetic how the music industry ignores and embraces it. This fucker is pure evil and belongs in a cell for all the damage and destruction to humanity.

The large global corporations (which amounts in this conversation to of course 100%) have majority shares (51.4%) owned by 1.5% of of all the investors. The board of directors of many of these behemoths sit on other behemoth corporation boards as well creating a block force which controls the means of worldwide production. In addition and because we are living the capitalist paradigm, control governments. Corporations only responsibility is fiduciary...to the stockholders, which means in short...to make money and to absolutely nothing else.

So, by buying a subscription to Spotify you are supporting an entire system of fascism, the same with every coffee you buy at Starbucks. Every cent that you spend at those big named places is tacitly saying...go for it and do what you like without consequence, I'm supporting your behavior in a big feedback loop that is frenetic and self perpetuating.

Try to stop it all and you will die.

It's a shame that the music industry ignores and accepts it.

Every time another Boeing plane falls from the sky, I'm reminded (however briefly) that killing whistleblowers and civilians by the hundreds for larger profits for the already inconceivably rich has just become the norm and how we just ignore & accept oh look, funny AI video of a talking cat.

Forget the merchants of death for a moment, they're commiting daylight robbery of musicians everyday.... And still the musicians are unwilling to stand-up, forced to accept the humiliation and loss of dignity. Some of the biggest have tried to stand up, none have succeeded. The minnows continue almost cult-like, refusing to even accept the premise that they're actually victims. Here, have our music, for free, train your AI bots, which are more succesful and generate more capital than said musician... If we do actually have some genuine success, we owe it all to our rentier overlords and "the algorithm" as without them we wouldn't have found our market. It is totally dystopian.

Several people were told they were over-reacting when there was concern about A.I becoming weaponized and not just the arts and computing.
How many movies are out there since 1984 (and before), that perpetually show humankind's need to weaponize everything?
I did a facepalm before. Mankind's hubris is so large it actually believes it is the smartest being in the entire universe. So large, it keeps making the same mistakes over centuries and learns nothing from it.:deep_facepalm: Now instead of a few ways to kill fellow humans, they have thousands...unbelievably stupid, in the name of making money.

Music, art, fun, computing, math and education, great !!! Anything negative...no..

Rightfully so. Europe should be able to defend themselves and not being dependent from others.
Besides, 600 million is not much money if you compare to what other country(ies) spend(s) for perpetual wars and genocides...

So why didn't he invest back into the music industry? It's ironic that the successful people & companies in the industry don't actually support it be developing it. This goes for artists too, that started very small and had support from many people in bars , studios etc, it is very rare for them to see some acknowledgement in some form, which would be tax deductible, all the money goes mainly into very expensive real estate, some build studios, but usually for their own use.

The world has gone completely crazy... there are more profits to be made there! Time for a Spotify boycott!

The Munich-based startup Helsing is raising fresh capital earlier than planned.
The drone specialist is apparently valued at €12 billion – a record for Germany.

The Munich-based defense startup Helsing has received €600 million in a new financing round from existing and new investors. According to the Financial Times, the specialist in military AI and combat drones is valued at €12 billion – a threefold increase within a year and also the highest sum a non-listed startup in Germany has ever achieved.

Helsing thus joins the exclusive circle of so-called decacorns – these are privately held companies valued by investors at at least $10 billion. The only German "decacorn" to date was the software company Celonis, also based in Munich.

The new financing round is being led by the private equity firm Prima Materia, owned by Swedish Spotify founder and Helsing Chairman Daniel Ek. In addition, the Swedish defense company Saab and several venture capitalists are providing fresh capital.
