So I am currently enrolled in a music course at my local college, and I was reading the book when I came across this gem: "An instrument is a mechanism that generates musical vibrations and launches them into the air." My questions are as follows: will my instrument ever run out of musical vibrations? And if so, where can one purchase replacement vibrations? Also, my synthsizer fails to launch ANYTHING into the air--much less musical vibrations. It seems it only launches through the analog outs. :/ What settings would one use to generate these vibrations? Will MIDI do? I was looking up tutorial vids but they are all for guitar.

From the title, I thought this thread was going to be about something else entirely. Like using certain frequencies to shape the weather or something.

Now that is what you would call a musical instrument.
