Are there any Max for Live sequencers/effects you usually use in your workflow, or for experimenting?

( For me right now is Patter, Snake and Grids )

I really like 4play, it's a sort of sequencer with 4 playheads that can play in various patterns, a sort of multivoiced arpeggiator, if you will. really cool device

Reviving this thread. It's been a couple years.
I've upgraded to Ableton w/M4L and am looking for some inspiration.

What are your favorite M4L devices these days (2025). What genres are you producing with these devices?

    Cheers!

    • Elephant STEPS (ELPHNT Steps). You draw steps and then assign the parameter to modulate. very nice and clean
    • Keyfollow (i don't know who made this, but i think i found it on the m4l website that hosts different devices). modulates a parameter corresponding to the key being played (can be done on some synths already, but some don't offer such option)
    • i have one called "mod and pitchwheel" i don't remember why. i think some synths i couldn't figure out how to modulate the modwheel i think. very handy in those occasions
i do have some others but these are the most useful ones for me. i'm a hobbyist; produce a bit of everything but mostly dance/trance.

It depends really what 'you' like but i like what Dillon Bastern, Fors, Novel, Maximdaniels, iftah & Kjentaro put out. I make deep house & a bit of techno. it just depends what sort of tools you like to use. We now have midi tools
Philip myer, manifest audio & MGF put some good packs out.

Paula is so much fun. Its nothing ground breaking imo, but its well done, and just FUN, and affordable.

Fors makes some of the best devices of all time, maxforlive or not. I bought a push simply to use with Dyad.

JohnnyDbol's Warp Marker Copier is one of the most useful devices out there for when you wanna warp clips that have the same starting point but not the same length

maybe im just online too much, but i see it brought up bi-weekly, at least monthly. no complaints tho, theres always a new recommendation. Cool that there is such a great community, it seems to be expanding more and more in recent years.
