I'm a sucker for worker placement and deckbuilding games, thus I really love Great Western Trail and Dune Imperium.

 

I don't game, never have unless you include Pong or Asteroids for like a couple of times back in the Stone Age Time's. I did play Minecraft once while visiting my brother who with his two young son's, I can fairly say, are addicted to that bizarre murder game and do so whenever they can. It was frightening to watch them.

 

It's a joke... self-deprecating humor...

i'm not sure if it qualifies as a board game since there is no board, but i like mahjongg.
but i also like scrabble, and that one does have a board.

 

I found I was reasonably competent at backgammon.
While the dice rolling is certainly luck based, for some reason I could always see what were the better pieces to move. I was decent at chess for much the same reason with which pieces to move. Basically action/consequence/positioning type games. I enjoyed Chinese checkers with my mother when I was a wee young lad, so maybe that's the origin? Who knows?

 

I remember parcheesi from when I was a kid, now with my boy we play Monopoly, Risk, Ticket to Ride, Clue, Cards. Risk has many versions.
We also have SPQRisiko! which is Risk from an ancient Rome point of view. also Chess and Backgammon. Scrabble with my Mom and Sisters back in the 70-s
