i tried to follow all of your instructions, but on the last step, i ended up with:




i.e. no settings/ini file.

 

There are no versions that come to mind that do not work. BobbyD's Full versions are all I use and those are easily just capable of being installed over with each newer version. If you are using any thing else I would recommend clean uninstalling the current Kontakt and install the new FULL BDule version. Replace the nativeaccess.XML file with the newest/latest one, and allow Kontakt to rescan all your libraries. You should be golden at that point.

 

i feel like i am getting a lot closer, but even though Kontakt8 now comes up in my daw, there are no libraries. and yes, i did follow your instructions on how to install them. in fact when i open library manager, it shows the factory library, piano uno and leap lo-fi vibes libraries, and i click save, shutt down the daw, restart, and then start kontakt8portable again, there are still no libraries showing.





finally! got it all working thanks to Will Kweks.

i have tried bobdule's versions multiple times. i never even got as far as i just did with vkdanilov's version. clearly, i am doing something wrong. that's why i'm looking for help. not comments like "such and such version works for me", but actual help like i was getting from will kweks. he got me very close to a working version.

edit: actually, it is all working now, thanks to Will Kweks who took the time to be very helpful and walk me through the process.

And how's that "almost working version" working? I answered your idiotic question from the title. Like there's versions that "just don't work"? Get a clue... Next time you ask for help I'll make sure to ignore your request. bye bye now.

 

please explain how your post was in any way "helpful". especially given the fact that i posted this comment earlier in the tread: "i am quite aware that these work for many people. unfortunately, i have tried them all and they do not work for me. maybe if i could find a step by step set of instructions written for a five-year old in good english, i might have better luck. clearly, i must be doing something wrong. for example, there was a fantastic, step by step set of install instructions posted here for the r2r release of uvi falcon 3. it made everything easy. i was very grateful for that thread."

just saying "There are no versions that come to mind that do not work." doesn't help at all. i have explained more than once that i have tried installing every version there is, and i need better instructions than what is given in the readme files posted with these different versions. but if you are not capable of providing any actual help, why even bother posting here? unless the purpose was not to be helpful at all, but just to establish your incredible superiority over someone who is just trying to learn. if so, mission accomplished.
