Universal Audio PolyMAX Synthesizer plugin is a FREE download for a limited time

Universal Audio PolyMAX is a two-oscillator analog modeling Synthesizer that can be downloaded for free until June 30, 2025.

The weekend is upon us; for many of us, it’s the perfect time to make music. How about a new Synthesizer? Even better, how about a free synth?

UAD has launched its Half Yearly Sale with significant discounts on its plugin. On top of that, Universal Audio is giving away its PolyMAX Synthesizer as a free download throughout May and June 2025.

It’s a very classic Synthesizer plugin with an excellent sound quality. It doesn’t offer any groundbreaking new features on the synthesis side, but as a free download, you shouldn’t miss it.

Universal Audio PolyMAX is available as a free download until June 30th, 2025. It runs as a VST, VST3, AU, and AAX plugin on macOS (native Apple Silicon + Intel) and Windows.

As you know UA is not cracked, one of the last companies on this planet.
So you will see why once you have registered, downloaded it and then installed it.

Still need registering and internet connection I think. I have had UA Spark… I have got rid of it.

I got it the first time they put it out for free and still haven't bothered to use it. You need an iLok account on their website and an account on UA website. You do not have to download it or UA Connect to put it on your iLok account.

All of these UAD iLok plugins get added to your UA account when you click the link to get them. Your UA account online will not show them, but they are added. Then you go on your iLok account on either the webpage or your iLok manager application. If you did it correctly, you will see it in your iLok manager and you can add it to your iLok. So if you already use iLok, you do not have to download anything.

When you bother to install UA Connect, login and it will show in there correctly. Some are even easier than that, where you can just type in your iLok username and the free plugin or demo version appear in your iLok manager or web account.

I haven't done one since the last free thing someone put out there, but I'm pretty sure the order is to login to the website first, then the next time you open your iLok manager app, it will already be there waiting to be activated.

This is one of the ways people have them to sell on here in nearly unlimited numbers for "low prices" when they are selling something they really got for free in 5 minutes. Always another scam.

It's a pass for me as I can't and won't use anything iLok-ed (also, I don't think iLok can work with WINE), but appreciate the news as one of my good friends and a client will love it when I tell him. He loves UA plugins and uses a few iLok plugins aside from UA plugins.

Personally, I don't think this is anything special. Looks like just yet another boring 2osc subtractive. UA or not. Having FM and Sync is a nice touch though.

I just finished a pc build past week and client had a UAD Twin and some plugs that he already had, wanted the synth so i installed it for him and got to play with it for a couple of hours. I gotta admit they put some effort in the patches made in there. Not as boring as it looks, it does sound quite good tbh. With that said, if you 've been around (which most of us obviously have), most patches resemble something you 've heard before, yep you guessed it, the typically well known past analog synths. Imho, it could come handy if the user doesn't have other more interesting/versatile options. I'd say it's very good for beginners who want to learn synthesis/sound design on synths. Overall a 7/10 from me.

I thought about that the tiniest bit more, and it does sound like a bit of work for someone to do each one for the "low prices" they end up selling them for. It would probably be very easy for someone with a little bit of relatively basic coding skill to make a little "account creator" style application. Some listboxes containing data, some very basic outbound connections, etc. You get the point. If you were to be the kind of person (scroll up) selling $5 dollar plugins you didn't buy; very fast and easy free inventory. I would be surprised if not already done. Not exactly talking about Pyrit
