Why are Kontakt libraries "released" if locked?

Curious newbie question here. I notice that there are a lot of Kontakt libraries for virtual instruments "released", but in locked format. What is the point of that with NI's DRM technology being so robust? Just curious why are these released? Thanks.

im not sure i know what you mean by locked. Ive only ever encountered a handful of libraries that required some sort of license, and half of those were supplied with the license.

Because if the 'host', in being Kontakt, is properly k'd for long term trial, the libraries will work just fine within those versions.
