But with clients, show them the actual plugin.

Melda has some killer plugins and great UI usability, I like how everything is very smooth and precise, reminds me of TDR plugins. They just need to seriously consider hiring an actual designer, because some great shit like MDrumStrip is seriously held back by the UI. Black Salt Audio just released a similar plugin with less features that makes more sense to use.

 

Eh to each his her they own. I still prefer the old non scalable bitmaps esp the ones that look "real".

I would not vote them for best UI, because there are so many functions buried, hidden, obscure, and even simple things like vibrato in MPowerSynth is a chore to setup (even had problems with custom templates breaking).

NOW, MeldaProduction has some of the best DSP in the game IMHO they are the best replacement for Waves in terms of mixing. The interface is not pretty. I do notice better effort in their Turbo series and other recent updates. I

What I love about Melda is the lifetime updates. I had MTotal bundle from like 10 years ago and they still honor it.

 

Melda is the ultimate example of how disjoint UX and UI can be,
but also example how nerdy GUI doesn't have to sell bad for audio users

 

yep, so much DSP power and gorgeous package of features with such poor presentation
if they hire a decent GUI designer that understands usability they will conquer the market quickly


i sometimes think it would much better if didn't make any gui like Airwindows

Best GUi is Fabfilter.

 

That's why Melda also operates UnitedPlugins and the brands listed on the UP site. The UI/UX for those is pretty good.

U-He is great DSP and mostly decent UI. Some of their plugins still need updates for HDPi

 

Some of us are just blind and use widescreens, thank you very much. That it may or may not be utilized with a linux machine that hosts the 'International Personhood of model train building 3.5 DnD Enthusiasts,' is wholly irrelevant.


Melda's prime drive also seems to be efficiency over bloat. Unless I'm misremembering none of the 'showy' faces are very animated or otherwise consume notable resources. The real faces are 90% utilitarian, 10% fancy smancy put stuff in default web 3.0 boxes and use shading to differentiate one from the next. I'll take that any day over junk opengl or vulkan implementation that even if I can turn off after launching still launches with it enabled cause the dev is a stoopidface and didn't code a user congif feature which can rather be a pain in the tuchus depending on what stage the project is in.

 

honestly, unironically i think they have very well thought out ui/ux. theyre plugins that are meant for you to go deep on and have every feature under the sun. plus their ui components remain consistent throughout their plugins so like, even if a single modulator in their plugin is more complex than most other plugins in their entirety, its also the same modulator across all of their plugins, and once you know it from one of them you know it for all of them
