Darth gets shit from Luke (his thoughts anyway) in the lyrics of my song.

 

Because I keep postponing recording my entry as my voice is back to it's bad practical joke of impersonating a bullfrog I'll just tease out the lyrics until I have the window to record them. I might employ my niece to sing the higher parts.

Altho i think George Lucas made some advancments in the cinema sound overall, which are a huge thing.

@reticular .. It sounds like R2D2 is watching at a distance, helpless to contrive any way to come and help poor Master Luke.

Your dense and textured composition nicely captures the dizzying and nerve wracking confrontation between warriors high above what seems like certain death to the hapless, defeated losing rival. As with the simultaneous goings on of your short piece it seems to me corollary with the combatants thought processes of playing out a deadly real life chess match condensed into a matter of a minute and a half.

I also grew up with this series so when you said

I decided to add this into the mix, the intensity, subterfuge, confusion, horror at being faced with the possibility that someone very evil that Yoda said he may have to destroy is his father, and realizing he is nowhere near strong enough yet to do it, so I decided to give them both a hand (hehe).

Thank you, I like the voice part along with the music, it brings some nice tension.

I still work on mine, musics parts are written though I could work on it a lot more but I have to restrain myself. I still have to make it sound better, I really suck at mixing / mastering...

 

I'm gonna start recording tomorrow. On guitar I've created a tuning by using DADGAD but tuning down the 3rd string to F to make it DADFAG (no pun intended) but then applying a three string partial capo across the 2nd, 3rd and 4th strings at the 3rd fret to give me a DAFACD (also no pun intended). Like usually, most of what I'm playing in alternate tunings unless I'm fingerpicking is being played on the 4th, 5th and 6th strings. The voicings give the song a unique flavor.

Happy sunday guys, here is my track for this special "Star Wars" non-contest.

It is an orchestral piece, with multiple sequences for various scenes I had in mind:
It begins with a litlle tension while waiting for Vader to meet Luke, then the fight takes place and Vader will keep your hears with a martial moment, then Luke learn the truth and his feelings moves.

@yodadl nice job, has a very grandiose feel from the brass section; sounds very Star Wars in general. even some of the melodies, you just stop right before it becomes like the well known ones, very John Williams inspired with a more traditional type of scoring sound in its arrangement

i really like the movement the best, especially towards the back half when the string section like falls apart into this like swarm of bees and anxiety, very beautiful bridge i love that. really captures that feeling of like your world falling apart before your eyes in a true way - nice job and thanks again for hosting

A most excellent contribution to the exercise we've got going here. You're short audio rendition of the scene for me was quite visual, and even if I wasn't familiar with the goings on in this part of the film it would still conjure the action that you so wonderfully etched out in orchestral form.
