Guys, after so much hype, what is the best frequency to work with rap? They say that 48 has less reflection in saturators

You can work with anything, oversampling exists for that reason. That said, I see no reason to not work in at least 24bit 48kHz. Anything higher might be harder to mix if you use a lot of plugins, but having that limitation is also positive because it makes you juice the most out of your tools.

Yes, 48kHz has a little less foldover/aliasing. I record in 48K and oversample when needed. When mastering I capture (my hybrid chain) at 96k.

For production projects I generally stay at 96Khz/32bf. I have been finding though that for restoration stuff (vinyl LP's) that higher sample rates tend to make finding those pesky ticks and pops (manually, because the noise removal plugs aren't perfect) a lot more difficult. So I have been experimenting recording those at lower sample rates like 44k/32bf and/or 48k/32bf.

The best frequency to work with music is everyday. With rap, I don't know - every other day?

I record everything at 48k/32bit FP. 32bit because I tend to edit the recordings a lot. Then master it at 48k/24bit. You can avoid having excessive aliasing with oversampling. Not everything needs to be oversampled. Often, I actually like how it sounds with aliasing, and/or at 8-12-16 bit 22.05-32-44.1kHz. Choose what you like best. Streaming services like both 44.1 and 48 these days, with 48 being preferable for videos.

    With that being said...

I work in 44.1K and already told this on this forum before. I will not play the devil's advocate, but you can oversample at least 8 times with most of decent plugins so i prefer not stressing with SR convertion, because in my experience, that can't shite the audio as much as aliasing and it's harder to prevent.

What kind of rap are you doing, it makes all the difference? Various sub-genre of Rap take to different frequencies...well, differently...which has interested me to study the matter. Here are my findings after polling over 275 solo and team Rap groups over a two year period. I'll put it in ranking from lowest to highest...

    22 kHz...Old School, Mumble, Lo-Fi
44.1 kHz...Hyphy, Emo Rap, Jazz Rap, Crunk
48 kHz...Chopped and Screwed, Grime, Gangsta, East Coast
    88.1...None
96 kHz...G-Funk, Latin Rap, Horrorcore, Trap, Drill, Cloud Rap
    192 kHz...Anything Diddy did

do what like but can you mix it right ....hope so

    i perfer 44 100 32FP

it works ... I could go for higher but then... my CPU freak out so
    I commit all at 44 100

even record at 44 100 really nice... I don't really need the high end extras

but if one day I have to record classical music or jazz in live format.. I would rec at 96 000 32 FP

I wonder if there's so many people on this thread actually recording in 32bit float interfaces or if they are actually getting the DAW processing depth confused with recording... Like, recording on a 32bit float project doesn't magically make your interface record in 32bit float.

That said, bit depth talk is not really any useful if the point is avoiding fold back distortion. It's like getting the X and Y axis confused.

So you mean like recording via 32bit float interface does not allow Ableton, Bitwig, Digital Performer, Logic, FL Studio, Harrison (who cares), UAD Luna, to record at 32bit float? Probably some of that too.

badly designed plugins that mimic analog saturation beyond frequency range of digital domain are still a relevant problem nowadays,
you would have to consider 96kHz or even 192kHz to mitigate such problem, but that's a wild workaround,
some plugins at least offer internal oversampling, some DAWs offer plugin or plugin chain oversampling,

if you're concerned about such thing, then rather avoid plugins that suffer from such problem

32bfp is better for processing as it has 1500dB headroom, don't worry about recording or playing 32bit outside the DAW.
