Unfortunately I made the mistake of taking advantage of the price drop to buy a Pianoverse model.
I couldn't find a way to try a demo when I looked for one a few months ago. So when I saw the price of the offer I didn't think about it.
I come to say here that it's a pretty clunky product all round. The graphics are excellent though, lol.
It's been money down the drain because I doubt I'll ever use it remotely.
The sound is very artificial, it reminded me of NI libraries from 2005.
    I don't recommend it :dont:

there are a bunch of expansions for it. Witches released it and most expansions, if not all; but only for Windows. Maybe some of the different pianos might sound better to you.

As of May 2025, Pianoverse features the following piano expansions:

Concert Grand YF3: Based on a Yamaha CFIII 9' concert grand, known for its expressive tone and dynamic range.
NY Grand S274: A meticulous sampling of a Steinway & Sons New York D-274, offering a rich and powerful sound.
Black Diamond B280: Inspired by a Bösendorfer 280 grand piano, delivering deep bass and resonant tones.
Royal Upright Y5: Captures the essence of a Yamaha U5 upright piano, suitable for intimate settings.
Gran Concerto 278: Modeled after a Fazioli F278, providing a bright and articulate tonal palette.
Hamburg Grand S274: A German Steinway D-274, offering a nuanced and balanced sound.
Black Pearl B200: A forthcoming expansion, details to be announced.
Liberty Upright: An upcoming addition, specifics to be revealed.
Grand Piano Y7: A deeply sampled Yamaha C7 grand piano, recently added to the collection.

Only for Windows? I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I bought the Black Diamond B280, but I use a Mac.

I love piano, in fact I can say the piano sound is closest to my heart, but I believe that no piano sound is worth more than 4-5GB, if they cannot keep it within that limit then there is something wrong with the method of sampling. I contemplated getting the pianoverse but at the end I realised, unless they have a LITE version, I don't want it. What matters is how you play and can you be expressive and at the same time dynamic? One of the best piano sounds is in the Korg Triton - Rock & Roll sample, since I found that one I usually balk at other piano samples.

Hindsight is always 20-20 but pianoverse has been scene released for a while (certainly longer than a few months ago). You should have checked out the sisite. Personally, off sisite the price is right and that can cancel out the heavy bit-weight in a matter of seconds. I have many decent-excellent pianos some of which are bit-heavy, but if you closed your eyes you would swear they were the real thing. Specifically, ViLabs Ravensroft-275, and Steinway Model D for Falcon. I have omnisphere which has some excellent grand piano's, also various scoring pianos, as well as a few Pianoverse models that aren't bad. There's also a Fazioli Grand for Kontakt that is pretty good as well. Most of these are bit-heavy but sound great. A few would tax even the best ear when trying to identify it as real or virtual.

I would like to add that when I saw how bad the purchase was, I went to IK multimedia customer service and asked for a refund, which was granted.

I really love Pianoverse, altough it is cpu-heavy

I dont seek "real piano sound" on pianoverse, but more exotic/fx/modulated ones.

There's a lot of good real sampled pianos out there, including Kontakt libraries.

I am a roland gear guy, so I use a lot the pianos on the hardware
