So I think I finished this track today. But because I have to mix and master only on my SD 650 headphones any roast, advice, or suggestion is very welcome. Specially from any basshead around.

    Cheers!

Not really my genre, but the mix seems ok to me (just checked using my AKG K-271 headphones too since it's 3am)

    Other notes:
    - Like the small vocal things that pop out at times
    - I really like the other "outbursts" that happen at times.
    - 2:48-2:52ish sounds a bit out of tune or just weird to me

    - I would probably add a little more to the "boring (to me, sry) / repeating" parts or just shorten the song 20-30 sec.

    Keep up the good work!

im a huge fan of left field bass music. its almost all i listen to recreationally lately. I think your track is good, but could use some groove cleanup. Part of the beauty of left field bass is that it can be (and often is) chaotic, open to interpretation and sound design. That being said, i feel like your track is like 5% too chaotic.

Im not sure what you use as a daw, but if you can, apply something like abletons groove pool to all of the drums. I would also clean up some of the kicks. Deleting some of them, as well as making them less swung. Just ever so slightly, i dont mean to completely obliterate your groove, just clean it up a tad and apply some "glue" using a groove pool type thing.

The snare is a bit harsh for me. Seems a bit more "in your face" Neuro Dnb type snare. Feels a bit out of place in the song. What i would do, if i did not want to change the snare, and this was my song, is EQ out some of the body / tonal part of it, as well as clean up the tail with a transient shaper or volume envelope, then use some reverb to settle it down a bit.

Same with the kick honestly. I would settle it down just ever so slightly, filtering off some of the top end, so its a bit more thumpy, and less thwacky. Nothing crazy, just a bit so its nestled in a bit more and has more thump. Maybe some slight boost in the 60-120hz range.

Sub. Im listening in a well treated room, with excellent monitors with a sub. There is sub energy in the neuro bass sounds, but if this was my track, i would scoop some of that, and use a dedicated sub. An "808" type thing that plays with or against the kick groove. Short and subby, not long and trappy. Just a sub to help lock in the groove and fill out the bottom.

Just thoughts of mine. In no way are they right or wrong. its a great track, i just feel like it could benefit from a bit of cleanup and sub work.

Heres some songs from what i believe to be the goat, Sleepnet. Obviously quite different from you, a bit more "dnb" inspired at times, but i share so you can hear what i interpret as something that is extremely chaotic, yet still locked in, and with a solid groove.

Hey thanks a lot both for the feedback! @shinyzen @diippii I really appreciate the time you took to do it. You're right, it's a little too long, and the snare never truly sits on the track. Also the sub is just pure laziness on my side, I'm gonna put some work on the track so the necropost (almost a year since I OP this) is not in vane!

    Sleepnet is pretty dope, :disco:

    Thnks m8s!
