I hate wireless, lots of reasons. but ...now i own 2 sets of these..

I bought a wireless set for my guitar, and I love it. It was a cheapy, 22$ for a transmitter & receiver.

available from ebay, and amazon for about the same price, though amazon sometime has 10% off coupon.

Not gonna last forever, plastic, but for my setup (i'm normally within 6-10 ft) of my interface or pedal chain and the signal is fine, no hum etc. its great for recording - comes with a usb charge cable that has a y config so you can charge both unit at the same time. The cable is small diameter so the charge rate is slow, but its still only an hour or two to charge and if you remember to turn it off when not in use, a charge last 2 weeks or so for me, playing about an hour a day.

just a rare, cheap item that works well, and allows a little more flexibility in movement in close spaces.

    here's the amazon link..

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D41PNJPB?smid=A3CUG63R7QH33E&ref_=chk_typ_imgToDp&th=1

comes in blue or black, available with 2 transmitters for about 7$ more..

Is there any additional latency? Can you do test for the latency? This sounds interesting, especially for the price

Thanks for the information about the transmitter and receiver. I didn't realize they were available at an affordable price. I bought a set and they work great for my home studio :)

I haven't had issues with interference on my pc.

here's the lowdown on the frequency they operate on:

2.4 GHz wireless refers to a frequency band commonly used for various wireless communication technologies, including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It is known for its longer range and ability to penetrate walls, but it can also experience interference from other devices operating on the same frequency, such as microwaves and cordless phones.

I don't use wifi or bluetooth on my music computers. so I wouldn't notice any problems on those aspects..

What about degradation of signal, do you notice if the signal is much different than jacking in with a cable or any higher end unit that you might ever have used?

I have never had much luck with guitar cables. most of them die after a couple years, if they live that long. I generally try to get cables that unscrew so I can resolder the connections. Thats one reason I decided to try this little fix.

I've been using it for recording my guitar and I don't get any hum or signal degradation. Its quite clear but I'm only about 4 feet away from receiver when playing. I haven't tried to see how far away I can go (plays "how can I miss you, when you won't go away") - never was my intent to use it for long distance work..

for my use its quiet and it works, if it were in a noisy rf environment, don't know. But we have all the modern conveniences -wifi,microwave, led lights with dimmers etc. so I wouldn't call it a pristine environment rf wise...

You will be happy with this cable, I have one too and it still holds up today:

Sommer Cable - The Spirit XXL Instr. 6.0 - 21,90 EUR

    High-quality instrument cable

THE SPIRIT is every guitarist's dream. It is now used by professional musicians from all over the world, and thomann enjoys a reputation as the absolute reference in the instrument cable market. Thanks to its special stranding technique, the large wire cross-section of 1x 0.75 mm, and triple shielding (semiconductor conductor + one or two copper shields), it is virtually unrivaled on the market. Despite its strong insulation, the smoke-colored cable can be wound without the thomann twist.

    • In the reference class for studio and professional live use
    • Wire cross-section 1x 0.75 mm²
    • Triple shielding (semiconductor conductor + two copper shields, coiled against each other)
    • With HICON jack plug
    • Length: 6 meters

I've been using this for a bunch of years because it sounds great and is built like the proverbial brick shithouse. I'd not gig with it because it's not flexible enough for happy traipsing on stage though. As you can see from the foto the liklihood that that it would bend and break at the jack is almost nil.

I've had good luck in the studio with these CableMatters cables. I've used their usb and serial cables for corporate projects and had no problems with them.

Started buying the instrument cables, so far they work pretty well.

they unscrew and are repairable if you know which end of a soldering iron to hold onto...

    2 10ft'rs for 16$

so if you lose them or they walk away , no tears.. guess I been using them for around a decade now.

I tried the wireless plugged into my zoom r24 and the gain was lower than I'm used to, but I usually go through a compressor, then into the roland gs-10, where I dial in the fx/amp model etc. then i use one output directly into the r24 and another output into a mimic pedal and from there into a roland microcube and that goes into input 2 on the r24, so I get 2 different sounds to mix together and layer with different reverb.

I tried the normal setup outlined above and I heard no difference in the gain, and I used the single coil tele and didn't have much problems with noise/hum. When the hum reared its head, I only had to turn the neck a couple degrees and it was gone. with a cable I usually have to turn 90 degrees to lose the hum (or turn on the noise surpressor).

all, in all for 20 bucks more or less, I'm impressed. course it has a built in rechargable battery which will die eventually, but still its handy as hell...

this guy doubles my playing and he works for peanuts
