Any experience in using legit BFD3.5 with older/discontinued BFD libraries like Deluxe, Zildjian Vault, etc...? Since they can't be bought anymore, k'ed versions from Sister Site are our only option, so I'd like to know if they work with the new BFD3.5.

Otherwise I'll just keep using BFD Jack Sparrow 3.4.4.

 

wait what ? the existing BFD3 libraries can't be used on the v3.5 ????

 

i dont think that's the case, i mean, it's only logical that the older libraries should be compatible with the new BFD3 3.5 version, otherwise it would be a really stupid choice on their part

 

I'm talking about discontinued libraries that aren't sold anymore because of rights issues when InMusic bought FXpansion. Like the Zildjian Signature Vault 1 and 2. So my question is are they still supported since technically they wouldn't be available in the InMusic Liscence Manager.

 

They all still work. Newer version also has a converter for older formats.

All older libraries are still working in the Inmusic versions. The only thing that could present some issues was that the different program structure of the Inmusic installation. So it was sometimes necessary to re-install some of the older libraries.

 

When did they buy fxpansion? Didn’t even know they acquired it

I'm a legit owner of the Fxpansion 3.4.x and the InMusic v3.5.x. The "migration" just had something to do with serial number registration into their system. IIRC the authorization tool was forked over with some behind the scenes changes. I bought most of the expansions and they were untouched from what I've experienced. I just linked the existing libraries to the latest BFD and everything worked. Of course, I got annoyed with setting up multiple systems and used the sister site tools for other computers and only had a weird issue with 8-bit Kit...not sure why. So I stated fresh, installed that library first, authorised the legit way, then proceeded with the alternate method and everything worked after that.
