I notice inside say Claire piano nicnt there is mention of the image file, which is in the shared folder. I was wondering if there is a way to create a link in other nicnt files to images? I looked at KLU but I don't think its possible as yet. I know I can create a wallpaper image for kontakt using KLU, but wondered if creating the link somehow from the nicnt and having the wallpaper in the shared folder would make it show up in the Kontakt 8.1 browser, which shows only blank folders unless they are NI instruments. I know there are people far more knowledgable on here about such things.

 

Recently I've been doing the job about the missing MST_Files due to unknown reason.Here's one solution.
In short,use bobdule's TCommander to unpack/pack .png files from a nicnt files

 

KLU mean mac user. so not sure they can use total commander... because of the file type integration of inNKX, made for windows.
it will need a virtual windows to do it. with regedit somewhere.

if windows users;
you can embed LibBrowser.png (Wallpaper) also PAResources in the nicnt file , if you respect the folder structure, name, etc.
only the previews will have to be done in the library. if you really want to edit them for a full NKS.

the portable only use Wallpaper.png in the Library root folder.
the regular take both, Wallpaper.png or LibBrowser.png

a windows response for a mac question will not help a lot.

 

Hi Bobdule I am using your Kontakt 7.10 Win and it works quite good. Any reason why some libraries like NI Session perc come up as demo mode with no sound. Cant get my head around it. Thanks

I was under the impression that the images, as long as they are named "wallpaper.png" or "wallpaper.jpg" and placed in the ROOT of the library folder would just automatically be picked up by the library and used. Is this not true?

 

No, the new Kontakt 8+ has a different way of embedding images inside the nicnt You get the main image in the kontakt library where it shows in the left hand viewer, but when you first open kontakt now it shows you a folder view that all the newer libraries and NI specific libraries have small images for the folders. Older plugins just show a blank folder with no image. So I just want to find a way of getting the blank folders to show images. But I think its embeded somehow.

 

the classic view can use wallpaper scheme
but the NKS menu use PAResources to extract from the nicnt file if the installer fail to extract it.
even legit and activated library don't extract the data as it should be done. Kontakt don't read them directly.
win dir is:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\NI Resources\image\Library name\MST Artwork.png the other files are used for the name folder in Maschine & Komplete control.

i made a tool with a lot of PAResources to directlly add them in the public folder.
REPAIR TOOL FOR NKS GRAPHICS that google find. it is a large collection, maybe not all published but a lot of NI products.
check it. missing one's will need a Total Commander extract if library have a nicnt file.

it is an SFX winrar archive (in .exe), mac user can extract the content with 7zip or any archive unpacker.

 

That sounds like a fantastic resource bobdule! As a macOS user, very jealous. Much respect to you, and thanks for your continued work for my Windows friends however!
