Im trying to find a site to help someone look for a way to modify their crybaby, get a hold of of a KLON etc, he tells me there where sites that people shared schematics, parts, sold traded etc, but they all shut down.

Does anyone know of a site that has a community like this to avoid buying brand names or modify them?

most mods on pedals are done not packaged and sold. Josh Scott at JHS has a nice series on youtube called Short Circut where he shows you how to do mods to pedals to make pedals and general theory about different effects circuits and offer a buy list of thing you need to do the job check that out also if you want a Klon just buy JHS notaklon its the same circuit accept you have to put it together its 100 buck and dead easy to do

also tdpri (its an acronym for god only knows what) has a pedal forum( board has been around since before electricity was a thing, so its a good place to search for old posts especially opinions on mods and pedals etc.

    https://www.tdpri.com/forums/the-stomp-box.15/

and the internet archive has some good stompbox resources
    https://archive.org/search?query=stompbox

also has the old stompboxology newsletter which discuss various mods and how to do them..

    https://www.freestompboxes.org/

pro modder tip, when soldering your pedal, always hold the colder end of the solder iron. if you've got a nose
for pedals you can often smell the flesh burning before you notice your fingers feel like napalm.

What is this, a custom built crybaby for bats? :woot:

I think those numbers should be "...up to 3.2kHz, most crybaby reach 2.2kHz"

actually the Zak wild one reaches 2.4khz , I heard Dime's original and first batch where this, I read that he wanted a real McCoy type with built on eq etc, so he had a diferent one from the commercially sold crybaby from hell, and now they have similar models as well.

    chatGTP is funny, look upload_2025-5-14_10-15-28.png

And the Petrucci one reaches 3.2kHz.

Not the 32kHz you originally stated.

you dont need to be sarcastic, the simple point is its the highest atm, someone just told me you can get the same results adding a EQ but I cant confirm this[IMG]

    I wasn't being sarcastic.
I was pointing out it's 3.2kHz, not 32kHz. The simple point appears to be the decimal point that you are omitting.

Snob fits anyone who sees multiple posts stating 3.2Khz including images, although clearly a typo either by me or Apple's auto spell a person compelled to take the time and reply about a typo is attempting depict another persons character, that is a declaration of a snob but you could of not intended it to be, unless its what your into lol

so saying snob or silly is a nice way of asking to stock tot he topic or explain why its big deal, no offence.

OK so what I find out recently was that people confused inductor with eq poles but when anyone corrects them on YouTube the messages disappear, the errors remain, eh..

    • The Dunlop JP95 John Petrucci Cry Baby Wah has a sweep range of 100 Hz to 3.2 kHz, not just EQ points. This is confirmed directly from Dunlop's official site and product manual.

    • He was confusing those frequencies with EQ points, but Dunlop lists them as the actual sweep range.

If you have any source that says otherwise, feel free to share it, but based on Dunlop’s own documentation, the range is definitely 100 Hz to 3.2 kHz.

I was originally going for the Zak Wylde, then realised the crybaby from hell and 535Q
      Dunlop 535Q Multi-Wah — 3 External Controls
      • Q Control Knob

      • Boost Knob (18dB)

      • Range Selector (6-way switch)

Dude/dudette, it was an offhand comment based on an error that was either a typo or sloppiness on your behalf. If you went to one of the pedal DIY forums and said you wanted to mod a crybaby so it could go up to 32kHz, they would also question you to clarify this. I'm puzzled by why you seem to be butthurt that the inaccurate information was addressed.

We're on an audio forum that consistently talks about specific and accurate audio ranges, and a Crybaby that that had a range of 100Hz to 32kHz would be ludicrous and hilarious.

Although I'd probably buy it for the shits n gigs, and to annoy the dog.

Back to topic, and good luck with your search.
