    Hi everyone,

Which are your favorite, most used ezx expansions (mainly the "smaller" ones, which are not 100 gigabytes big lol). Any style. Just curious.

    Thanks in advance!

agreed! its a favorite of mine too. some others i find useful:

funk masters - simple, groovy, fun

electronic and electronic edge - just nice to have more sounds and grooves. different from the rest of them

hip hop - this may be my favorite. it just does what it says it does, and does it well.

latin percussion - excellent percussion engine

in the pocket - tight, saturated, groovy

there are many other great ones, but i find most of the rock / metal ones are redundant. You have a couple, you have them all. Its best to just find a couple you like sonically, then get all the midi for the rest.

A lot of the EZXs eventually come out in expanded form as expansions for Superior but I don't believe anything from the 70's Rock sessions ever did, did it??

Alchemy of Pop is quite good for me.

It has four different kits, some dampened, some played with brushes and some even played with mallets.

It has plenty of articulations as well.

Ah, and it has a few one-shots ...

I have tried some so far. I liked the kicks and snares for the big collection of these instruments, and yes, I also found hip hop and electronic to be pretty great for my taste. Biggest disappointment was dark industrial (lots of not so usable "atmospheric" stuff).

Hello. There are several great ones, but I'd say my very favorites are Rock Solid, Pop-Punk, and the ezDrummer 3 stock kit. The Large bOObs expansion was ahead of it's time when it was released as well. I must go. I love you all.....All of you!!

Oh! Oh! Latin Percussion (the original). I use the fvck outta that thing. There's probably what, 100 percussion libraries out there and I just go straight back to this one every time; I guess I'm just really used to it.

Interesting. I gave a listen to the demos. My impression was that it was a bit muffled and boomy from the demos in their site, but interesting nonetheless.

Fusion is quite nice, although bit on the bigger side.

As a longtime lover of all things harmonically rich distortion and noise... most anything with 'industrial' in its title only serves to lift your hopes before the crushing disappointment comes when you actually listen to it.

'Into The Dark ' ez is a smaller slice of Fields of Rock sdx and has a couple spot on kits you'd hear in post-punk goth and deathrock. Also fits into that early 80s to mid 90s "even though this is melodic and has structure its still industrial.. infact, shut up Genisis P, we're taking over the name going forward" branch (Puppy, NIN, Ministry etc).

None of the libraries really do great on the sampled drum machine side of things - they cast too wide a net imo and are better suited for commercial quick turnaround kinda stuff.

Though not ToonTracks, if you track down SampleMagic and any kits labeled SynthWave those use the 'correct' processing and drum machine samples from 80s and 90s for those digital acoustic with bite kits.

I can sound VERY muffled if you don't handle all the mics with care. There are a lot of kick and ambience mics, for example. But for me, that's the magic of it, so many possibilities!! :D
