    Hi Boys and Girls ,,

I need some help with using VST with live sound

    something like Breakaway Live

wish I had medicine for Breakaway DJ

    Breakaway DJ

I have tried Cantabile Performer but I cannot figure out how to get it to work

the set up would be something like this,,,, DJ program,,,, to VST host,,,, to output

where I could load a VST plugin and just keep playing songs and the plugin would process them

seems Cantabile Performer needs the song loaded into it

Thanks a lot ,hope someone can point me in the right direction :break: :mates:  *yes* :dancing:

mmm, I suppose you're on Win right?
The free VSTHostshould do the job.
I'm not on windows so I'm not sure if it has routing capabilities to route audio from DJ app to it.
If it has not, Soundflower or Jack can help you setting up the routing.

Everything you can do it, but keep in mind that you must have very very stable machine.
There is a lot of problems with half of gigs where for some demo bands machine or software stop working etc... :) Especially when you move to next song, set etc...

Many artist use Logic or Live on stage but not armed with VST's and AU's, just set's with WAV tracks, so before gig every song is bounced (every track separately) into wav.

You decide what tracks from mix you want to be played from DAW and what you want to play live, guitar, synth line etc...
    It's more stable.

Also you can check Brainspawn Forte, I use it long time ago, it's very stable.

I use computer in my live shows (live and max for live) with a lot of plugs and a doepfer midi controller.. never had a crash.
The risk gives to me a strange sort of pleasure... it's part of the play! However I test the configuration at home with a lot of care! :grooves: :grooves: :grooves: :break:

If it will happen I'll return home with a lot of fruits and vegetables!!
