Look for "Nordost-Valhalla.Reference.CablePack.V2-Full.Bundle-[win/mac]-[R2R]"

Make certain you get the "full.bundle" - it includes all cable types phono, BNC, XLR, HDMI, USB, etc...

My hifi system costs a few thousand euros. I have made the speakers cables using exactly CAT5 wire, 3 wires for each speaker, braided. BUT.. when I first made the cables I only had enough length to make the braids using only 2 wires and it still sounded fine. When eventually I added the third cable to the braids my wife, totally unaware of what I did, asked me what I did to the hifi because to her ears it sounded better!!!

 

if 3 sounds better than 2 does 300 sound better than 3

Sure, it's called "cutting-pliers". you should use all the cables in it for best results. Also, remove the lacquer. If you have a solder kit, solder the cables together. like 1-2" that goes into the hole, not all of it.

First, you start a magazine called HiFi-Spezial – then you invent a story about how great and better this $15,000 device is. Then you do reviews. The reviewer gets paid €300, and in return, they write the most ridiculous nonsense. A few nice glossy photos and a good design.

You'll impress your rich friends with this new device. Oh, and the Kang... Listen, people... there's no difference, of course... but you raise your glasses with champagne... great purchase, yes, it sounds much better... what else can you say...

 

There's a point at which Hi-Fi equipment quits being about functionality and just recreating sound and becomes more of a form of art. Which if you can afford it is fine I guess

 

Not really "stereo gear", more like "Lifestyle Accessories", trinkets for status... which point to a lack of inner self worth. I fill the hole in my soul with high end consumer goods...Billion Dollar Babies

 

Edna Mode probably has a couple of those "stereo systems"..

I guess my point is that there is certainly an element of design to this extreme high end equipment which is generally quite beautiful, such that if I had more money than sense I would invest in it for that reason rather than because I thought it was actually worth that based on sound quality. Which I guess is what you're saying too, I'd just be comfortable with it.

 

Introducing "Brilliant Pebbles"... these audiophile things range from $29-$129. The 'cable' version comes in a plastic bag that you simply tape to your $1k line-level cables'. Others, you're supposed to put out in the yard surrounding your house. Can't make this stuff up, folks . Looks aquarium gravel and it brings out the detail in your music, haha
