I decided to find chords that were both inside and outside and honor Olymoon in the process because as @SpyFx ✪ ✓ mentioned, after all, this who this thread is dedicated to.
Because Oly and I had so many private bass discussions in PM, I chose to put a played and real fretless bass as the melody, and make it a combination of haunting, ethereal, spacey, sometimes musical, sometimes dissonant, sometimes a touch of beauty, sometimes a touch of ugly, sometimes a touch of WTF. We are and were both bassists as a main instrument. this is a complete replacement of the prior tune.

The bass was done in only two takes. The first to create the pale blue dot and all the descriptions above, the second to go awol and improvise madly inside and outside. I won;t apologize for the lack of being a perfect mix, that is not the point of this tune, the music is. Yo ucan hear everything, that suffices. I also make no apologies for the fully comprovisation nature of the fretless either. yes, the more rhythmic bassline pedal tones are on purpose. i also can't apologize for the 3kHz and harshness I cut back that soundcloud unmagically put back. Any other flaw is all mine.

@Somnambulist definitely way better than the first one musically imo; very psychedelic, almost new age-y. i like the drums the most as it progresses, very loose, jazzy patterns and some nice fills at times. im guessing youre using an alt account or something if you knew him; but thats not my business, glad you entered for your friend. nice job

Fixed the soundcloud hacking issue I had and it's back - I decided to double the bass with vibraphone after transcribing some of it before reuploading.

 

Here's my go at it...

 

Hi, this one is pretty difficult to me, lack of inspiration as the suject is really appropriate for synth sounds but I wanted to remain on orchestral music as a challenge.

The piece is about a space trip, you're on a spaceship in a scary universe, then you see this pale blue dot and music becomes more friendly.
The third part is about landing and discovering a wonderful, heaven-like planet.
Well, I guess this happened long time before humans live here

When I was just a Junior Spaceman 3rd class in the good old days of my youth back on Mars Base Shepard, when we were given the chance to use the flight simulator to learn how to maneuver one of the moon shuttles that ferried miners back and forth from Phobos and Deimos, we'd play music beforehand to get us in mood and to psych us up for our practice. Your song would have definitely made our playlist. I still have some pull and will definitely suggest it the next time I'm vacation on the "Red Planet" with the new recruits when I meet them. We go about every two years or so and will probably book this October when Mars is in perigee to Earth, the long journey wrecks havoc on my arthritis and I try to now get there sooner than later.
