As many of you know that PT 10 is not recommended by avid to run on Mavericks, but many people had successfully installed and used it on Mavericks.
I want to be able to run both PT 10 and 11 on a stable OSX. I read many posts on the net about this and got mixed opinions. Some people say it's stable, others say it's not. Some people recommended Mountain Lion. There's also not much of info about this in the Avid Community Forums. It would be nice if Audiosex members share their experience.
I would also like to know which version of PT 10 can run on 10.6.8?

    thanks in advance

Surely not Mavericks. The latest usable system to me is 10.8.5.

10.6.8 can run PT10.3.9 with some tricks.

You can read some info here:
    http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/compatibility/Pro-Tools-11-System-Requirements

Co-install of 11 and 10 are supported, but only on 10.8.5.

I would say 10.8.5 no doubt

I really appreciate your time and knowledge.
Can you direct me somewhere that will help me install PT10.3.9 on Snow Leopard?
Or if you know how, I am sure many people here would love to know as Snow Leopard is very stable system.

well i do not doubt in that. I am not on PT but on Mavericks, having no probs with logic, live 32 64 or cubase 7.5. If PT does not work it's not apple to be blaimed. Apple did never give too much shit on 3rd party software when it comes to develop a new OS, carefully expressed. They all know that. MS, the opposite, did it very well, at least mostly. Well, it's a certain philosophy. The Steve Jobs one (and it's still a steve jobs philosophy)is the one i like. It's not the mountain to come to muhammad. It is just an avid problem. As i said, i run on mavericks and have no problems at all. If they don't get it fixed to run their daw under the current mac os 1 year after the release they should consider to completely leave the platform
