Interesting. How come we're a rather settled age group? Or let me put it that way: If Audiosex existed in my teens I would've been very active on a platform like this. So I'm quite surprised there aren't that many young folks on here. On the other hand, back then dreaming of making a living out of sound was widely spread. Today there are a lot of different dreams one can hunt, like influencer, pro gamer, programmer or stuff like that.

 

I also suspect that the oldsters are somewhat more likely to feel like answering a poll about how old you are than the kiddos. Probably a lot of younger people are just like, I ain't got time for that

 

Old for probably kindergarten music industry :D , some one said 10 years pased man i remember year 2009 i first stumble upon this site and now it's 2025 time flieswe are geting old guys.

Where I do struggle these days is having the naivety to think I'm doing something new, which comes to younger folks so much easier.

EDIT: this is badly phrased. I should have written, which came to my younger self more easily. Apologies to any younger people that might take the above as a slur...

Back in the very early 1980's
when I saw my friends playing chess on an ibm pc, the 1st home computer I'd seen at the time
(i'd played pong on a magnavox console - didn't consider it a "computer") - well when I saw my friends playing chess with the ibm pc, i thought

"this is the stupidest thing I've ever seen"

and I was running a mini-computer for a medical imaging manufacturer company at the time, so i'd seen DEC pdp 04 etc. Kennedy tape storage drives, etc. I knew a little bit about computers.


well I was completely wrong man...

personal computers became huge and I've seen way more stupid shit since then. now people use them to order dinner and give money to poor rich scammers in 3rd world nations and Miami Beach by clicking on the screen with their fingers. and pay large sums of money for the priveledge of having no privacy, computers have become smarter and people dumber, its like a ledger seeking balance.

Its quite mad, absolutely insane..

 

Back when I saw some of my fellow humans on their Commodores using a joystick to move a ball across the screen, I knew I definitely didn't need the thing. I preferred playing real table tennis; it's much healthier, too. Chess on the computer, I miss the haptic aspect!

Old enough that my first experience with a computer was an IBM mainframe and a teletype machine.....;)

Man this brings me back... I spent an indecent amount of hours playing this game. Few years later a lot of them too playing the real thing. Why settling for one when you can have the two?

Personal correction: I love anything getting job outta my hands. Computers, persons, aliens... the thinking not that much, it's less tiresome. Except when it's for work
