if theres one thing ive learned, its that any plugin with a dumb cartoon mascot is usually a terrible plugin. Theres also ableton's slice to midi, and additional third party plugins that do this and more.

This does look simple and immediate, which can be nice, but the monster pisses me off.

Can you tell me why you think that?
I recently bought DERES and Detroubler and i´m really impressed from this plugins, also the price is affordable.
When i read through the youtube comments or recensions from other sites they´re mostly very positive.

Sure, a Pro Mixing engineer or Producer can make all this with stock plugins or other "Pro" Plugins.
But for a hobby musicer like me the tools seems to be perfect :)

I agree with you @shinyzen, I don't feel like constantly looking at that monster either – I think we're not their target audience.

If you look at their website, they're already starting to sell off 70%, which suggests that their products can't compete with better competition. I've also seen 90% off, which means they're practically selling nothing and have to lower their prices to generate revenue.

The company is owned by Paradise Audio s.r.o., Prague, Czech Republic!

This is not a new plugin.
It's a reworking of a plugin called “Chop Monster” from ChopAudio. A brand which, by the way, no longer exists, but which nevertheless took the time to resell its toy!

These guys must be getting their marketing/plugin ideas from "safari pedals"... There's a literal shit-ton of these things being schlepped by just as many dubious looking dev's.

[edit] - some joker actually requested it. april fools?

Cause they themselves aren't serious. It's a company that prioritize quantity above quality and selling turds for kids.

Sure, they've been out for a while now, so obviously with the experience comes some quality, at least they aren't selling ONLY EXCLUSIVELY sht, but occasionally come up with something ... well, with something that requires more than 5 minutes to make. Maybe.

Just to chime in because I also share some of the opinions other people have here in regards of the plugin looks, but to be fair, it seems that WA has several teams doing different plugins.

I read on Gearspace that these are made by the same dude: BassShaper, BeatQuake, RedClip, DeTroubler, Dynawide, VocalShaper, KickShaper, DERES.

So, like, it's possible to think that DERES and DeTroubler are good plugins while thinking this one looks a bit dumb.

Don't know what to think of WA. I bought BassShaper and it's actually amazing, the deboom is unique in what it does afaik and everything else is just perfectly arranged, a secret weapon for kick drums.

But on the other hand they never provided any Bugfixes or updates. The user interface behaves horrible (shitty melda framework I believe). And the whole company seems to be about releasing gimmicky plugins every few days like somebody pointed out already.

This is also what i read. Different DEVS.
And since they´re still in sale i grabbed BassShaper and Kickshaper.
They both have also good recommendations and i try them out now.

Sure there are plenty of tools for this like classic sidechaining, Trackspacer, Soothe(Sidechain) etc

But from what i read is, that their plugins add some "Magic sauce" from where you remove unwanted things.
There is a very interesting comment from the DEV of DERES (No advertisment from my site but it´s interesting)

The big comment from Emrah Celik
