Deleting is not so easy. When you have just one contact there you like to write with than you need to find a alternative already.

    Instagram for example.
There are super good forks for Android.

    Google Distraction free Instagram.

Deleting and blocking Apps completely is useless.

I like Instagram to see content from my friends and to show my content.
But ja, brain rot scrolling needs to be stopped

When someone falls in love and becomes addicted to something, he/she can't stop it, unless the nature of that thing or its form changes or another thing is created. If that new thing is created, addictions will move towards that.
We are all addicted. Addicted to something. It's just the percentage of damage that is done differs. Some addictions are more harmful and some less, but ultimately no one can truly stop.

Well, the "infinite" scroll is bad from a user interface design standpoint (for several reasons), and when it's used to push "user engagement" (urrrrh, hate the term) it's not only bad, it's wrong.

i love the scroll, it's so brain dead it guarantees abandonment of whatever content. The browser jumps and skips over huge areas on infinite scroll pages like reddit, making the effort not worth the content and I walk away.

It was a terrible design decision, if you ever used web 1.0, it had no infinite scroll.

    it was better.

Remember actual hyperlinks with working anchors? Good times.

Infinite scroll is bullshit, and it's not for users, it's for investors.

In the past, poor people traveled the world to find gold and become rich. Some hitchhiked across the country to experience new things. Others learned a trade to fulfill their potential. Some started families.

Then came the smartphone, the new tool for control and distraction for the masses. It made many things easier, but some people no longer talked to each other like they used to, and children played outside less and less. The entertainment industry had reached its goal; gamers were now alone at home, using their PCs.

Some people you met outside were always checking their smartphones for likes, information, and emails, and they no longer looked at each other, and they no longer greeted each other.

If you were having a conversation, your smartphone would ring in the middle of the conversation, interrupting it. In Copenhagen, there are stripes in front of the traffic lights on the streets to prevent distracted people from walking into the flow of traffic and getting run over.

Finally it's time to go home. You're standing at the bus stop and you have a little time until the bus arrives. Now your brain can rest, but a feeling of emptiness comes over you and suddenly your cell phone is switched on and the game of sender and receiver, constant stress and sensory overload of the brain just continues.
