Wow all the midi controllers are shite. Settled on an AKAI mpk 261. Even that has a dodgy key by the pads, its scratchy but triggers fine, will get Andertons to swap it out. Action pah my old evolution 249 is miles better. To be honest I think the best thing is go digital piano and just buy pads n knobs for midi control. The akai is great for control, but keyboard hmmm seems cheap, keys pushback too much lol, pads and knobs are awesome though.

Even if piano is not your main instrument the touch is very important. If you can feel a hammer bounce it's gonna be nicer :)
All the other stuff, just velcro where you need it

I prefer Akai MPK249 myself. I am not sure about 261 though.

Many DAW control surfaces lack perfect integration with Reaper, so until that is addressed at the code level, I wouldn't have any high hopes of a flawless user experience.

If you are a guitar player, I would take a look at a Kemper Profiler Amp. The quality and selection of amps is very good. I bought mine pre-owned, and it's the best music making device I have at my disposal.

Regarding midi keyboard controllers, none are perfect, and all the main contenders have already been mentioned above.

Send me a PM if you want any further info.

    Happy spending!

For a new MIDI keyboard, the Nektar Panorama P6 is a great choice, especially for DAW and VST integration. For controlling your DAW and VSTi's, consider the Novation Launchkey MK3 or Akai MPK Mini Mk3, both of which have good control features like pads and knobs. If you're looking for a MIDI foot controller to complement your PODHD500X, options like the Morningstar Engineering MC6 or Behringer FCB1010 could provide more flexibility. Stick with reputable brands like Novation, Arturia, and Akai for good value without sacrificing quality.
