Hi guys, I'm new to Bobdule Kontakt and also new to Mac.

Does the patcher work on a Mac?

I used it quite successfully on Windows so just wanted to see if the process is the same.

For Mac people get a release from the sister site and then use KLU here to load libraries - or addlibrary for macos (also on sister)

Thanks for your reply. I've downloaded the the Kontakt 8.2.1 from his site so am I right in thinking that when I get my Mac in a couple of weeks I just install this as normal? What is KLU? I've never heard of that.

Haa, that's still confusing!
I've read it but not sure what anything means. On Windows I just downloaded the Bobdule Kontakt Player, installed the patch and then used the Kontakt Button to install libraries.
Do I need to install the Bobdule Kontakt Player for Mac? If so then where do I get it? Is there a Kontakt Button for Mac and if so where do I get that?

I've never used a Bobdule Kontakt Player for macOS, although I have tremendous respect for the work he has done. So I wouldn't know, and I would recommend using the HCiSO release of the latest version of v7.10.x for macOS in conjunction with with KLU 2.

Like anything else in life worth having, you are just gonna have to do a little homework here with reading the KLU manual, faq's and information provided in the thread I linked to get it running smoothly. /

You can try the "Add Library for Kontakt" app supplied on sister site, as others have reported success with that, but I haven't used that either, just KLU 2 myself.

 

Ah I see, I thought they were the same thing. Totally agree about doing homework as this is exactly what I'm doing on here by asking the question, forums like these are the only thing that provide any information. A lot of the terminology used like 'sister site' I'm just not familiar with so it's difficult to find via Google etc.
Again, I apologise for my ignorance, I'm just very new to both Macs and this process.

 

Maybe while doing your new Mac homework, you can find out why these people still keep putting .aiff Apple Loops in every normal sample pack. In 2025, they are useless. "Metadata" , yeah ok.
