Is there a synthesizer AI or whatever tool really, that can act as a VSTi with the following
    ability:

    - given one or multiple sound samples (like small 1s, 2s sound clips in wav format)
it will then use those to create the full range of the musical instrument "sound"
present in the samples and then you can use that as a VSTi instrument within a DAW?

Example: given couple clips of a violin playing, it will analyze those samples (assuming
notes) and mimic the entire spectrum of that violin (generate the other missing notes)
and then you use that re-creation synth or whatever you wanna call this and this acts
as the VSTi instrument so you can compose as if you had access to the same instrument
    the samples were created with.

That would be a cool technology. Is there such a thing?

If there isn't such a thing already, somebody will make it, I'm sure. That's good usage of AI. Assembling sample based instruments with many layers can be rather time consuming.

This Visco drum machine is awesome.

as stated above, Synplant 2 can completely reproduce any samples with raw synthesis, and it then creates a multitude of variations of it, or you can just bend it all apart for fun and snap it back together.

I don't like the Synplant sound - you either like it or you don't!!!

I think it's pretty interesting technology, I would like to see what sort of developments have been made with this sort of stuff in a few years time when it's got closer to the mark, but I am struggling to think of many practical uses for it personally as it stands

I don’t personally own synplant 2 (v1 is not near as good) but I’ve extensively demo’s it and personally I love it, and I find its case for use plentiful, but for one example think of this …you can drop a spoken word sample into it and it recreates it, but then you have control of all of the seperate sounds and settings that make it sound like the spoken word which you then can manipulate and pull apart, augment, return back to normal…basically morphing in and out of the original sample, almost like granular can be but with a different depth of control. I’ve always been interested in sound and sample morphing, like the polybrute can do in between patches and the old pci based Kyma system could do in between samples. That’s a very rare ability but I can think of tons of uses for it that would create intense little moments in a song. Just me though, I’ll likely pick up synplant at some point when I actually have cash to spare (not common)
