I'm curious about Catalyst's opinion. [IMG]

The faders behaving feels a bit like Cubase 7 and above, which is a good sign.
I heard they give even a few alternatives to the appearance of the faders (or the overall mixer) i dunno :dunno:

that GUI making over was long needed! the GUI looked quite old and i can imagine that Imagine Line wants to be ready for the 4k and 8k displays in the future.

Love the wire thing connecting different mixing tracks. Way cleaner way of making it look.

this looks so good! love seeing Imageline are evolving their program, and not just doing a reskin/update. This mixer looks hella sexy!

I'm intrigued but I'm afraid that all the other things I dislike will still be there. For example a damn freeze button...we need a damn freeze button. I'm a DAW nomad right now. I keep going from one to the other trying to dress it up like it's the next best thing since sliced bread and they aren't. I hate them all, I really do. The only thing that comes close is Cubase or Reaper but no VST3 is a no go. It sucks, I'm using Studio One but the mixer and the GUI are just...bleh. :(

While a one click freeze option would be fantastic, FL Studio in it's current state makes it pretty straight forward. But you're right, I'd like to see this as well.

I think with Fl 12 they will have to include a lot of the requested features since they're probably rewriting a lot of the program and therefore won't be limited by their past decisions.

I consider FL a novelty daw, not in a bad way, I just consider PT, Cubase, Reaper, Sonar, S1 to be "traditional" and FL, Live, Bitwig, Reason to be "novelty".

With the success of other novelty daws, they'll definitely be taking a lot of cues, so far the tabbed browser is live/bitwig, and the wired mixer is kinda Reason-ish.

If any Image Lines are reading this, please steal the scalable step sequencer from Reason. lol

I just noticed that no where in the video did they showed the fx slots, either they havent skinned it yet or we're in for a big surprise (hopefully the latter).

Yea' you right! And about S1, not only the GUI is ugly, but also the waveforms/clips. If you zoom in and compare it to almost any other daw you'll see that S1 looks kinda 16bit-ish. they should really discover the "antialiasing" world.
S1 is still my main daw of work, but if the future V3 won't get a drastical GUI improvement, then i think i'm gonna migrate to other daw, something like Cubase 8 or Bitwig 2
