don't know about thorium, but that archive.org page is read only, no downloadable files.

I have read several books on archive.org after logging in with my account, no problems. I used my cell phone to take a picture of any pages I wanted to "save". don't recommend you do that for full books unless they are incredibley rare and you really must have a copy.

The Craig Anderton book is available for Kindle and can be bought used for around 10$, its not rare and it is kinda old at publish date of 1986.

Archive.org is literally a necessity, its the preservation effort we need for the future. There is quite a lot of data there that is now preserved for future generations.

This does not pertain to archive.org but We know that with VST and plugin that are 20 or 30 years old now in those cases the only reason plugins that old are still around today is because of one reason and its not because of the devs of the plugin either.

Its a compounding effect so all the popular plugins today will also meet the same fate but now will also continue to be around due to one reason.

The internet Archive on the other hand is similar, its a curation of data that is now being preserved for the generation to come. No not everything is safe but we assume that most people uploading there are doing so for the greater good of mankind.

I've used archive.org for many years no issues, like others have stated it is free but a donation does help them out, they have expanded the content so much in the past few years, it will help them out.

 

Now I can download every book with my credentials given to jDownloader. But I have to borrow them first. Regarding the donations I get them only occasionally now.
