Hello Karate Kid, here is a suggested solution without guarantee:

The problem that soloing multiple groups in Studio One 7 also activates muted tracks could be related to the solo and mute settings or a specific feature of the program. Here are possible solutions: 1. Check the Solo Safe feature Studio One has a feature called "Solo Safe" that prevents tracks from being muted when they are part of a group. Check if this feature is enabled: Right-click the affected tracks and check if "Solo Safe" is enabled. If it is, disable it.

What is Solo-Safe and what do I need it for?

Solo-Safe – Why complicate things when you can do it simply?

So I always soloed the track, scrolled down to the effects bus in the mixer, and then soloed that bus. Now I could start mixing. And then came Solo Safe! It means something like "solo safe" and is designed to ensure that a channel remains audible even when you solo another channel. Normally, all other tracks are muted in that case. But if you activate Solo Safe, the respective channel remains audible even in solo mode. This is perfect if you want to listen to a track, including its associated effects, individually.

A small click for you, a big effect…

Usually, just an alternate click on the Solo button is needed to activate the Solo Safe function for a channel. In Logic Pro X, this is "CTRL + click on Solo," in Studio One, it's "SHIFT + click on Solo." If you don't know how to do this in your DAW, just try clicking the Solo button while holding SHIFT, ALT, CTRL, or CMD. One of these keys (or keyboard shortcuts) should work.

After the solo is before the solo

Once you've finished soloing the track, it's best to deactivate Solo Safe on the effects. You can do this the same way you activated it. This is useful because otherwise, when soloing other tracks, you might still hear the vocal delay, for example, if Solo Safe is still activated on the bus. So, it's not only useful to know how to activate it, it's also useful to know how to deactivate it.
