I'm on a MacBook Pro M1 Sequoia 15.3.1 using the latest version of Kontakt 8 v 8.2.1 & I'm in a serious battle to get all my libraries to show up. I basically use KLU to install my Kontakt libraries but not all my libraries are showing up. Lately I've had a new track I was working on & really wanted to use Glaze 2.
However Both Glaze 1 & 2 do not show up in my list. Then I learned my SNPID No had issues with other libraries mainly libraries associated with Machine.
Some libraries show issues with a certain other libraries and then there are these issues with a library identified. by number only.
I tried resolving the issue by changing the SNPID No.... That didn't work because the SNPID No is used in 3 or 4 other areas associated with the library. So just deleting the preference file is not enough.
My Machine libraries are on my internal Hard Drive in my shared directory. My Kontakt 8 libraries are all on an external removable hard drive.
Can someone please help me. I'm just short of removing all libraries both Machine & Kontakt then reinstall my Kontakt first.

there is another utility called "add kontakt library utility". That one I've had better luck with adding libs. If they don't show up it's likely a snpid conflict somewhere.

 

I think you may want to replace the Native Access.xml file with the one from NI that contains all the correct data. Including all of the SNPID's.

It gets replaced here on Mac: Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > Service Center

This is a newer copy from Jan 2025 I found on here via search posted by @FrankPig: https://api.native-instruments.com/static/phints/NativeAccess.xml

I would also suggest using Add Library application for bulk adding libraries. It's very fast.

 

Dude that's what KLU stands for. That's what I was talking about the whole time.

I tried "Add Library" right after deleting all the preference files. But thanx Clone I'll try your suggestion with the XML files.
I'll let you know how it went.

 

"Add Library for MacOS v4" is a different piece of software than KLU2. It can be found on the sister site.

 

I am no expert on Kontakt...
so I tried to add an old library (with inside only .nki files and the 'Samples' folder) but 'Add Library' (MacOS) shows me: ‘No library found! The folder must have a .nicnt file'.

Then I tried with 'Kontakted' but it shows me: 'Exception Error Number: 2'.

Any suggestions to create that .nicnt for use it?

When you use Add Library to batch add all your Kontakt libraries, you will have any without an NICNT file leftover that Add Library will not batch add. Use KLU to add those v6 libraries individually. Get a wallpaper for each one first, if you want. Let KLU create you an nicnt file for them and add those one at a time. For K7 or K8 libs, figure those out next.

 

I’m on Ventura Intel and use 3 versions of Kontakt, 5 - 7 and the latest 8.2.1. If all fails you can still click the nki file in finder libraries and open it with the Kontakt version you like. This is only necessary for libraries that require Kontakt 8

 

KLU seems work for now...

 

No luck. And I deleted all preferences, PAResources & .Jon files and still nothing.

 

If you have tried both Klu 2, and Add Libraries v3, and are still having problems; this leads me to believe your Kontakt install/setup is the problem.

I saw one user complain about Moria's 8.2.1 release showing some things as Demo still, but I noticed the same thing about HCiso's release also. Users can make mistakes, but not usually with 2 different releasers' versions.

Someone's posted solution for HCiso's version: delete komplete.db3 and restart automatically.

I'm on 6.8 still, I answered your post because it was about KLU (and Add Libraries).

This is a reddit users' post about the same issue; but your issue is Kontakt 8.

"Quit Kontakt and locate the "komplete.db3" file. On macOS, this is usually in ~/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/. Deleting this file will force Kontakt to rescan libraries when it restarts.

After restarting Kontakt, open the Import Content window (click the cogwheel in the bottom left) and scan both the factory content and your custom library folder. Ensure the "Import subfolders as individual libraries" option is checked to prevent them from merging into a single folder.

If a folder still appears in the browser despite being deleted from your system, you can manually remove it. Open the Import Content window again, select the unwanted library or folder, and click the "Remove" button.

For any older libraries that aren't loading correctly, use the Batch Re-save function (under the File menu). This re-links the library's files and can help recover missing libraries that might have become unlinked."

 

...and people have to remember that Fred Bloggs himself, the creator of KLU2, strongly suggested NOT using Kontakt 8 as there was some movement of things that were beyond it's purview and he absolutely saw how it would or could create problems.

He said he would poke back in when he had time to figure it out or did or whatnot, and I don't know who made "Add Library for MacOS v4", and I've seen or read some solutions work or not with remarkable inconsistency.

I'm running Kontakt 7.10.x until I need to run Kontakt 8, and there is no reason for me to do so now at the risk of f'ing up my stable large library and setup...

I'm gonna listen to the people who know more about this then I do, and I'd strongly suggest others do the same, as some version of this thread is posted daily...
