Hi.

I've been attempting to install bobdule's Guitar Rig 7 but upon running the patched setup, I am always greeted with this error: "An error occured while attempting to create the directory:"


I understand this may be an issue with the N.I installer conflicting with my PC, but I have tried running the setup as administrator, extracting the file, disabling Windows Defender and controlled folder access, restarting explorer.exe, and restarting my PC, but to no avail. I have tried creating the folder myself and putting it within the directory but the error persists. I'm further confused that, at this point in setup, this folder already exists and is about 1.16GB in size. It has also done this error for “RarSFX0” at different points of attempting the install.

This is my first time making a post and I am grateful for this forum helping me solve many of my issues prior to this, but I can't find any solution through here or browsing various other forums. Hopefully this is just something small that I am forgetting to do, but I am stumped of where the issue lies here.

Guitar Rig Setup 7.0.2.exe is just a WinRAR self-extracting archive. If you have WinRAR installed, just right-click to extract, then run the extracted setup exe

 

Please do let me know if you figure(d) this out, I'm running into the exact same issue

 

Hi, I'm having this problem with the download too. I also tried the things you mentioned and still came up with nothing unfortunately. Please let me know if you find any solutions to this!

 

Latest release by @bobdule on sister site is Guitar Rig 6 Pro v6.4.0... Is the site legit? I really don't know

Some other teams like V.R. and R2R have released Guitar Rig 7 Pro v7.0.2

 

it is a windows or NI write attribute management joke
the setup should not be launched from user temp because of a write protection done on the temp installer folder.
it need another package, winrar can't be used this way with this installer.

simply extract the files (win winrar or winzip) anywhere else and run the setup. it will go to the end as usual.

i repacked the setup in iso, it should be better. the version 7 is not compatible with old cpu.
use the 6 in this case.
