The funny thing is that there's always some truth in these superficial comments, you know why? None other than the Halo effect: a term coined by the American psychologist Edward Thorndike, where people tend to make quick judgments about people or things, attributing characteristics (usually unconsciously biased or for humorous purposes) that lead to distorted categorization and judging someone/something based on a few outstanding traits (creating the infamous stereotypes).

Calm down, folks, this post should be in the humor section!

 

FL user?

 

I've used Reason, Ableton, Pro Tools and Reaper and this video nails the feeling I got from each community. Never used Logic or FL Studio, but it also seems spot-on. Wasn't FL Studio it originally called Fruity Loops? I think that should be enough

 

The less you hear from a DAW's "community"; the better and more problem-free the DAW probably is. You have to discount any installation issues, especially if they are k'd. By that rule of thumb alone, I would probably be using Studio One; if I was not already using Logic.

I can get why he does not really know where to put cubase, as it has this sort of middle of the road vibe about it

 

It has a huge userbase, it's hard to categorize everyone that uses it in a single camp. He should have had a Nationalists category, that would definitely cover the average Cubase user

Here's one from Russian Tracker Scene Dudes using mostly SchismTracker but there's a few renoise & other in there, Yeah it's long but I'm glad it is... Real music in a tracker that uses no VSTs at all... It's in Russian so turn on the CCs=

 

How so? Do you mean most Cubase users are german and the company is too?

 

Steinberg is headquartered in Germany, but thanks to the internet, its users are spread worldwide.
Germans also use Ableton, Studio One, Fl Studio, etc., so anyone living in Germany can use the DAW they want.

 

I once tried to use fl studio because it has great additive synths but found it impossible to make a song with it. This video

summed up my problems (and also made me finally understand the weird way it works!).
