Gold has always been that I believe, as for the real value of alcohol that will be obvious to the world soon after what Canada has just done with America soon enough, cigarettes apparently are the currency in jails and plant seeds I gather you are indicating the billion dollar legalized marijuana supplies for medicinal purposes now run by many governments? That will be interesting too, because Canada has been selling varieties of marijuana seeds for decades and now legally.

As for the value of Bitcoin as currency, the person most qualified to speak of its true value here, is the owner of this illustrious forum, and nobody can say Elon Musk, no matter how much anyone hates or loves him , as being able to dismiss him as not knowing how to make money using it as a form of currency. I say the last because he is allegedly the financially wealthiest person on the planet.

In the early 2010's i lived with my cousin for a bit, and was downloading some movies on his internet. He received a letter threatening action, and it listed some of the movies.
One of them was Michael Moore - Capitalism: A Love Story
Got a laugh out of that, but my cousin was super nervous and angry

    CRISIS PREPARATION

Imagine a stock market crash / financial crash or a hyperinflation where money suddenly loses a lot of value.

Sometimes a whole bank goes bankrupt (Lehmann bankruptcy in 2007/2008) the bank counter is then closed, the ATM no longer spits out money, usually the state then steps in and you get your money back from the state / taxpayer.

In Cyprus, during the financial crisis, all money over 100,000 EUR was gone. That's why investors spread their money around the world, if a country goes bankrupt, not everything is gone. That's why you should have physical gold.

As you can't eat gold, alcohol, cigarettes and plant seeds are popular means of exchange in or after times of crisis. If you go to a farmer with cash, he won't be able to give you anything because he won't get anything for the money either because the money has lost a lot of its value or he can't exchange it, but if you offer him a bottle of alcohol, he'll give you a sack of potatoes.

Sometimes the power goes out (blackout) and then the ATM stops working, you can't fill up your car because the pump is powered by electricity, and you can't make phone calls either. The ATMs at the supermarket will remain closed, so stock up on a small emergency supply of food and drinking water for emergencies.

That was a really good logical reply. Now I understand what you were saying.
    Yes that's quite scary.
Sadly, these are scary times we are living in lately.
Thanks for that, I should have picked up on the bartering aspects but now I get it :)

"Mediocre artists copy, great artists steal" = great artists do not just imitate, but transform the inspiration they receive from others into something new and original, just like Stravinsky, who went as far as irritating Schoenberg so much that he mocked him by calling him 'der kleine Modernsky' with an extra epithet 'Papa Bach.'

Watching people who can genuinely do this—I mean, for real (and here I’m not referring to just any AI attempting to mimic something already created, or even worse, an influencer skyrocketed to fame, but who, when faced with situations demanding real knowledge, ends up talking crap), is absolutely amazing. For some, it’s unsettling, as it’s that moment you realize someone has truly mastered the trick of the trade.
