    DJ.Studio’s Stem Separation Tool
DJ.Studio has recently updated its offerings with an impressive stem separation tool, enhancing its DAW-like interface for DJ mix creation. This functionality is particularly useful for isolating background elements like subtle drum beats and ambient vocal fragments, which can be seamlessly integrated into your house music projects.

I've been using this for a year now. It's such a good DJ-specific DAW and is evolving so quickly. When I initially bought it, it was pretty much just a MixMeister replacement with controls to 'mix' between tracks. However, by now it has allsorts of features and pretty much the go-to now for creating mix ides, making mashups, making easy DJ edits. Won't be as polished as making them in something like Ableton, but is so quick to just get the specific job done.

I m a long time MixMeister user stuck in version 7.7.
I have recently bumbed in DJ.Studio, downloaded and tryed version 3.1.8.
This program is SICK! Its everything i was wishing and praying from the evolution of a DJ DAW interface like stem separation and mashup interface on the fly etc.
Since i m not a proffesional and wont make any money of it, the price is a bit high for me.
My problem is that the "one time license" looks more like the start of a subscription to me. It include ONLY "12-months of updates" and the amount of money to update to the future versions is not yet clarified, with the ceo saying that it will be probably around 49€/year.
The hole thing looks like a Software as a service platform to me.
The software seems to not be capable to work offline, so a don't think that anyone can promise that everything you buy today will work in the future as the time of purchase.
I really wish they had a Respectable Lifetime License as the one VirtualDJ has, it would make me less worried.

bitwig does the same. it sort of makes sense. these companies cant stay afloat with free updates forever. theres tons of competition out there, and everything is cracked etc. You arent forced to buy an update every year. You can buy the first license, and then wait a couple of years to buy an update. The version you bought will still be licensed, and will likely still receive basic updates (compatibility, bug fixes etc), it just wont get the new features. If there is a new feature that you absolutely NEED, then buy the update. If not, wait another year or two until there is something you need.

wait, but what freaking ripoff!!! lol. are you kidding me?!?! pay a premium to use WAV files, get out of here. pay an even bigger premium to use VST's? ridiculous.

Can this do anything that ableton can't do besides stem separation, of which there are plenty of third party options, and ableton will have it incorporated soon anyways.

It's a great tool, not as complete as a DAW but more practical for DJ mix. Not sure about the mashup part (I'm still doing that in my DAW). It's great for quick mixtape (it can be faster than real time mixing - less fun though) or even just a great tool to try and build a set (and still keep the fun of the live performance cause you didn't have to try mutiple time the same set with little variation). The stem separation is ok, just like any stem separation (not as complete as RipX but good enough for its use).

It can seems a little expensive, but the workflow is really what make it worth. You can do the same with Ableton but it will take more time, especially if you want to add something in the middle of your mix (or change a track, modify the order). The AI BPM is also great, very useful for old 70s track (better than what you get with Ableton, more user friendly too if you need to edit an misplaced marker).

I own the version without the VST, I don't really need them, there's already some good FX (like the one you find on a standard DJ mixer). And for Ableton user there is the possibility to export directly your set or mashup in Ableton, so you can edit more deeply here.

What's missing for me is the possibility to export a DJ set with channel 1 and 2 separated (so I can import it in another DAW, to add VST on separated track instead of the all set), but one of the developper told me in was something they will add in future update.

I didn't try the video, but it seems also to be a good thing to have if you post on youtube, like an easy and quick tool to make it more dynamic without using complicated tool.

All is very user friendly, I just had some frustrations at first with the automation system, as it seems more like an Ableton kind of thing (I'm a FL user) but once I get use to it, everything look way easier than doing this in any other DAW.

Mornin' Buddy, Do you mean mash ups made in Ableton?

I've never used Dj Studio but I have made the odd mashup in Ableton

A m also hoping that i could learn Ableton Live to use it as a DAW for mixtapes and mashups.
The good thing is that it can be found cr@ckd very easly but the bad think is that its not so easy to learn.
On the other hand DJ.Studio currently cannot be be found cr@ckd but if you try it is crazy easy to start creating awsome mixes like MixMeister
